Hey guys!

I'm the proud new owner of a DS Lite and one of the things that attracted me to it the most was its [upcoming] DS Opera browser and its ability to be homebrewed. Ideally, what I'd like to do is get DS Organize (with its delicious feature list: http://www.dragonminded.com/?loc=ndsdev/DSOrganize%20Features) -- the homebrew gaming doesn't really interest me. I'd also like to view pictures, listen to some music and play the odd movie (which DS Organize allows me to do).

So my question to you guys is how do I go about getting this done? Is this all I need:
- Movie Player SD Version (I have a 1GB SD card): http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=246&products_id=8970&PHPSESSID=004acfd39eda392aa1dc57575abdbfaa

Thanks in advance! Cheers,

You're gonna want to actually go with an M3.

Not if he just wants to use it for DS organize, i'm not sure if DS organize works on the SD version, but i think Moonshell does

dsorganize seems to work fine on my m3 sd slim.

m3 sd slim?

Really what I want to do is just to be able to write notes on the DS, access a calendar, address book, view pictures, maybe movies, maybe audio, and of course, browse the 'net.

What would be the best option for me? And if you could link to the actual product on a site like Lik-Sing it'd be really appreciated :). Thanks!

Well for Browsing the net, you should wait until the DS Browser is released by Opera, but the cheapest solution for what you want to do is the GBA Movie Player, i prefer the CF version, mainly because thats what i have lol

Theres a link to it

as for the calender and notes and stuff, use DS Organize, but for audio and video, i Prefer

Moonshell, which can be found on DCEmu

hope that helps

~Edit~

Forgot to mention to get NDS homebrew working on GBAMP CF, you will need Chishm's GBAMP Firmware hack, which you can find here:

http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/

Also, you will need a NoPass device, such as Passcard 3 or something similar

Thanks for the responses, guys.

CPU_Smarts, I visited Chishm's site but unfortunately, the firmware hack he mentions only works for the CF GBA Movie player. I'd like to go with the SD version because I've already got two 1GB SD cards that I could use with it.

And what is a NoPass device… and why do I need it?

All right, well I just ordered the browser the GBA Movie Player SD from Lik Sang, so we'll see what happens.

Will I still need the NoPass device? If so, what for?

Edit: Hrmpf, cancelled my order of the GBA Movie Player SD because the more I read, the more I don't think it'll do what I want it to do. For example, Chism's firmware hack only works for the CF version and from what I've read, Moonshell will not work on the SD version.

Edit 2: After much more researching and reading, I think this is what I need, M3 SD Slim w/PassCard (http://www.kicktrading.ca/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=87). Can someone verify that this is the end-all be-all solution for me?

I TOLD YOU, THE SD MOVIE PLAYER CANNOT PLAY IN DS MODE!

You WOULD need the nopass, but the MPSD is a really bad choice. You can barely do anything.

Let the others explain it. I'll wait for my M3. I no nothing of the MP crap.
