cd-r discs yeah, ive never got a burnded dc game / video to work

most work, just not the very very crap cheap ones, also some DCs will not read cd-rs, for more info about that here

If it reads a Audio CD it will read a CDR.

Try downloading and burning something from DCEvolution.net:

Burn with Alcohol120% in TAO mode. There's a free trial available here:

Other info:

See if you can look through your CDRs when holding it against a bright light source, the easier you can look through them, the worse they are manufactured. The less you can see through them the better.

Also make sure you are not using a CDRW!

im using black cdrs,so i cant see through them at all

I use black cd-rs. They work, but sometimes it takes a couple tries and restarting the dreamcast to get the cd's to boot.:D
