gigly wigly
i bet they are going to mod the rom for the psp motherboard, either in this update, or the following

example. change the psp to not run eboot.pbp, but run an entirely different file like umm... .ps0 files

i dunno, i was wondering when sony was going to get smart and do that
and also, the update files are getting to be like 20 megs, so i bet they made a sort of 'zip functionality' so the size isnt too big

it could happen

all sony have to do is change the encryption, this is a quick update, so they will just change the encryption stopping us from getting to the files

then they will work on locking the install to each psp,

dont forget we only have access to the 2.71 decryption because of kernal access on 2.60 and sony being lazy not changing the encryption method from 2.60 to 2.71...so new encryption means no access.

not great news but erm, yeah, sorry

Yep. Accordian Boy is right.

Sony is only coming out with this small update before the big one with the psx emulator to make sure it doesn't become devhookable.

I wouldn't be surprised if a 2.81 comes out after this if this firmware does end up getting dev hooked, or even worse, becomes open to homebrew.

how the hell do u have 3 psp's

well its a funny story
i wanted one, so i bought it for 250 bucks
then i wanted homebrew, so i bought one for 20 from my brother along with gta
and well, i wanted a third one, which i bought for 25 cents from my friend
the last one had a broken screen
on my thread, there is a movie depicting two of them, one being the broken screen one
