FluBBa has updated his PCEngine emulator for Nintendo DS:

Minor update for NitroEngine, should hopefully please some guys out there.

*Added support for the SF2 mapper.
*Fixed loading of roms with headers.
*Fixed sprite scaling when switching modes.
*Fixed directory cache misses.
*Fixed some CD-ROM emulation issues.

Nice. I tried using the previous version, but I guess my games had the issue with headers so none of the handful I tried worked. Now they're all working fine and highly playable with this new update. Thanks to the developer. I've been hoping for this emu for a while.

The emulator is actually the best PCE emulator I have outside the Mac/PC. It ran every game I threw at it, including many problem games on my PSP, and Wii PCE emus. Great speed, functions, and sound. Haven't tried any CD games on it yet tho. This is a nice surprise!

Edit: And for anyone having issues with US games, be sure to find roms with an "h" on their file name.

Craking emu, thanks a lot. Could you look into fixing the screen scaling for R-Type by any chance as the playable area scrolls off screen.
