Updating from 3.80 M33 5 to 5.50 GEN D3

Just bought a modded PSP off craigslist, it's a pink PSP 2000 with 3.80 M33 5. I have no idea how to update or anything at all, is it as simple as dragging files on to the memory stick?

If it matters its a european PSP.
