Hi I'm new to the whole PSP Emulation scene and I was wondering if you guys could give me some help on getting started.

I currently have 2.60 PSP with a USB cable so I can connect it to my PC and my only game is GTA:LCS.

What I would really like to do is play some old Megadrive games like Streets of rage so if anyone could tell me what I need to download to run Megadrive games on my PSP that would be grand.

Cheers.

first make sure you dont have a TA-082 motherboard
to do that, open your UMD drive, and look at the top right corner where theres a little green. if theres no writing, then its ok :)

Now what what be the best Genesis/Megadrive emulator to use for 2.60 firmware and how would I go about putting it on my PSP?

Thanks ;)

I'm having a bit of trouble with it. After I select the downdater option the screen goes black then the little orange light in the left corner flashes for a few seconds then my PSP restarts straight away and say the disk cannot be read

Yea I have GTA in it all the way though. Should I eject it then when I start the downdater?

maybe your GTA disc is too new, they patched the game. does it come with the 2.0 update?

Yes it does. I just got the game a few weeks ago.

So does this mean I'm stuck with 2.60?

i dont know, try again i guess
otherwise try to either rent the game or borrow it from someone who has had it for a while

I guess you don't have a 1.50 dump. Check the DOWNDATER folder on your computer and see if there are 5 folders in it somewhere: "data", "dic", "font", "kd", and "vsh". If not, please tell me.

No I dont have the 1.50 dump and I dont have a DOWNDATER folder on my PC.

All I have is a DOWNDATERTEST folder with EBOOT.PBP in it that the easydowngrader progam installed into my GAME directory on my PSP.

Alright, I will send you a dump via PM. I will also include X-Flash so you can undo my modding if you want.

When it sais put the DOWNDATER in the root directory on the PSP, where is that? Do I just put it in the PSP folder?

no put it in the same folder as the PSP folder so when you open up the USB Mass Storage thing on your computer there should be a folder called PSP and then put it in that same folder where the PSP folder is located
