to know if you have a TA-082 motherboard for sure, look in the top right corner of your umd drive where theres a little green. if there are no letter there, then you dont have a TA-082 motherboard

Wasn't there something about not downgrading factory 2.6's.Might be a risky venture.

it looks to me as if pinonykid had a lower firmware, n sony upgraded it. it is safe if they just used a firmware update, but if they changed the motherboard with 2.6 already installed, there is a big risk and an even bigger possibility that it will brick.

if it is factory 2.6 u just have to wait for 0okm (i think) to work his magic

they wouldnt have changed the motherboard with 2.6 even if the did it would have that number in the right hand corner

u dunno, sony r sneaky ppl, dey might have removed the code, so ppl dont dare downgrade, or they do downgrade, the psp is bricked and u have 2 spend god knows how much 2 get it fixed

it is doubtful, but remember. Sony have snuck security updates in their newer firmware without even telling us.

no markings on right hand corner? no problemo to downgrade... even if it is factory 2.5/2.6
