Which pokemon game to buy

I recently purchased a DSi XL and I was wondering which pokemon game to buy. I've never owned a pokemon game before (or a nintendo handheld device) before so as a starter I was wandering if I should buy heart gold or soul silver or should I wait for black & white. Thankyou for all your help.:)

I'd go for soul silver or heart gold, B+W isn't coming out until 2011 unless you want to play the Japanese version. Been really enjoying Soul Silver myself.
