Would It Be Posible To Create A Custom Firmware Update That Makes A 2.71 PSP Think The Update Is Actually And Update (UPDATE 3.00 Or Something), And Have The Update Customized For Homebrew Capabilities?

This has been brought up many times, but I don't think it would be as simple as you think.

Well when we get xmb on firmware 2.80 with full support, it will be the best day :)

I dont get why hackers arent trying solutions in devhook while they can...

Thaought It Would Work, If You Get Hex Editor, You Can Edit The DATA.PSP And DATA.PSAR Files, I Tried It, But In Order For It To Work You would Have To Find Certain Validation Codes In The 2.8 EBOOT To Inject Into The 1.5 EBOOT.

I Mean, I Got My Custom EBOOT To Load On 2.71, But When It Came To The Update Screen It Started Then My PSP Crashed. So It Is Possible But It Might Take A Little Time And Effort.
