Video_freak
August 11th, 2006, 19:27
you have 1.5 right?
if you do, just put the two folders that came in RIN (like rin and rin%) in the GAME folder inside PSP. if all this is right, then it should run :)

Webb34
August 11th, 2006, 19:36
No i got 3.2 and there is more than 2 folders.and even though i copied them al over it still said corrupted. I am bout to shoot myself. its pissing me off i need like step by step instructions. I wont be home for a while though cause im leaving but if u post them I will love u forever

Video_freak
August 11th, 2006, 19:37
you have firmware version 3.2??? wtf?

Webb34
August 11th, 2006, 19:39
no. I have homer's rin 3.2

Webb34
August 11th, 2006, 19:40
hmmm. ok i think i see somewhat of the prob. i NEED FIRMWIRE

Video_freak
August 11th, 2006, 19:41
i know what the problem is. it isnt kxploited. i'll do it for you then send it to you ;)

Video_freak
August 11th, 2006, 19:48
ok. after you've extracted the zip file, creat a folder called RIN. inside that, put all the folders and files you extracted. once your done, tell me and i'll send you the other RIN% folder through email ;)

Webb34
August 11th, 2006, 20:01
Ok so. I made the file RIN and I put the folder that i extracted (rinv3.2) into it. which should it look like?First or second?

Video_freak
August 11th, 2006, 20:08
put all the files from the second picture in the RIN folder (instead of being in RINv3.2, make those folders be in RIN)

Webb34
August 11th, 2006, 20:11
Ok that is done. Now what? and remember I don't have Firmware or any clue as to where i can get it.

Video_freak
August 11th, 2006, 20:14
to find out your firmware version, go to setting on your psp. then go down to system settings. then go to system information. if it says 1.5, give me your email and i'll send you the kxploit for this to wrk. otherwise, it wont work.

Webb34
August 11th, 2006, 20:24
ok um. It is 2.71. wasnt expecting that.

Video_freak
August 11th, 2006, 20:25
shit. you cant run homebrew on 2.71 yet (except homebrew apps). i should have asked you this in the beginning. it would have saved us both time. sorry :o

Webb34
August 11th, 2006, 20:29
lol.
so is it possible for me to do anything at all?

Video_freak
August 11th, 2006, 20:33
yes flash applications. theyre ok i guess (like calculators and calenders and stuff):
http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/psp-flash-homebrew.shtml
dont ever update though, because they might make downgraders...

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 21:03
how do i run this on my 2.6 fm, it doesnt seem to show up on the gta eloader, but it does at the games/memory card.

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:05
You need to put all the files/folders from the download in one folder called RIN. Then you put that in GAME. If it works for 2.x, then it will show up on eLoader and work. Otherwise, it only works for 1.5...

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:08
Well it says its suposed to work on any firmware above 2.01, on this site.Ill have another try thanks.

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:09
kk. report back with relutls ;)

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:14
i got to the eloader and it said reading then turned off my psp :S

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:14
hmmm. thats odd. i dont know whats wrong

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:17
ill have another go..just incase , you never know ;), do you know of any GBC Emulators that work for firmware 2.6 by any chance? well ones that you kno work

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:20
Argh, its a no-go, turned PSP off again :(, its strange how i had no problems getting the GBA emulator to work but not a GBC one EDIT: What annoys me more is the fact that the Homers RIN is appearing in the GAME/Memory Card in the PSP menu

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:23
you may want to downgrade. do you know if you have a TA-082 motherboard or not?

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:26
Im not sure, but i got my psp within the first week it came out, i had it pre-ordered, im not sure if that helps, or is there a way to check what motherboard i have?

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:30
Yes, open your UMD drive and look in the top right corner where you see a little green. If there is writing there, then its a TA-082. If the writing is on the top left corner where you see some green, then its ok.

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:33
didnt read your post right, yes i can see some yellow numbers on the left top corner

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:35
if its the left top corner, then your good :) your on 2.6 right?

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:36
yup

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:37
then download the easy downgrader.
http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=28181&highlight=easy+downgrader

I must warn you that you will need someone with 1.5 to extract the 1.5 firmware dump for you though...

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:46
thanks very much, do you have 1.5?

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:48
the file size is like 30 mb so you'll either need to get a friend to do it with you locally or downloaded it from the wed (illegally :()

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:49
On the post about the easy downgrader, you say that you dont need the 1.5 dump, was that wrong then?

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:49
Oh :(, thanks for trying, and helping :)

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:50
I geuss i just need to find a gbc emulator that will work on 2.6

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:50
What i mean is that you need to someone to get the 1.5 firmware dump for you (you can only get it on a 1.5)

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:51
Just downgrade to 1.5 (you can emulate 2.71 using devhook) :)

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:51
Im pretty sure none of my freinds know about Homebrew let alone what firmware they have ;)

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:52
I might downgrade when i get bigger memory card

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:53
ok...i hope it works out then. just dont update whatever you do!

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 22:54
Yeah, thanks for everything :)

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 22:55
Your welcome man :) We're all brothers and sisters on DCEmu!

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:05
You say this dump is 30mb ? it seems to be smaller, 9mb

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:08
the update eboot is like 9 mb, but the firmware dump is over 25 MB i think

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:10
Is it ok to mention the URL im at , it has this file "

Filename: 1_50_JP_Firmware_Dump.rar
Size: 9.15MB
Downloads: 8,919

Description:
The 1.50 JP PSP firmware dump. This by no means allows you to upgrade/downgrade to 1.50 - it is strictly for analysis.

That it was it confusing me, it looks like the firmware dump file you are talking about

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:12
Hm, I guess it is only 9 MB then. thats JAP one though, you may want to find the US one for downgrading.
You wont need this on your memory stick once you have downgraded ;)

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:15
Right, lets hope i dont brick my psp :D....EDIT: its funny how off topic this has went

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:18
LOL. this is all to get you running RIN in the end though...

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:21
That file should be ok, shouldnt it? im just worried cause you said it should be like 25mb

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:22
I thought it was 25 MB but I was just guessing. I would find the US version though....
I'll find it then send you a PM with the link. ;)

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:25
Thanks, but i found the US 1 :) 23mb free on memory card should be ok i presume?

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:27
right when i found it too....:o
i would take everything off my mem stick (format), then put eLoader and the 1.5 firmware dump
(follow the instructions)

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:35
on the instructions it tells me to delete all the files on the psp root directery, that dont sound right

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:36
 wtf?

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:36
and if im using the easy downgrader i dont have to manualy put the dump file on psp, right? this thing seems to do everything by itself

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:37
I think you should just download the full version of the downgrader which comes with everything ready....

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:38
and i can find this on this site?

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:39
No...I'll find you a link and send you a PM ;)

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:40
Thanks :), i feel terrible for all the time you have gave to help me ..

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:44
No prob, I do this to help newb's out to get their PSP's to do what they want since now one really helped me when I was a noob :(

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:46
well maybe when you where a noob they didnt have people like you :P

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:48
Ya, probably. I was a noob just a couple of months ago still :o

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:49
Oh

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:50
i keep finding them, but you need to be a member of the site to download

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:53
well i was looking through this easy downgrader without my psp attached and it seems to install the update eboot, and the gta eboot loader, then at the end it tells you to move the downdater folder to your psp root, that pretty much makes sense

Video_freak
August 13th, 2006, 23:55
Ya, but you need the 1.5 person to do something for you, amd since you don't have a 1.5 person near you, you just download it from the web.

mrpontius
August 13th, 2006, 23:57
Yeah i found one on web, it was 9mb only but

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:00
what site (dont give a URL, just the site..)

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:01
psp-hacks

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:06
should work....?

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:10
i will give it a go

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:12
kk. report back with results ;)

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:20
now before i start it using the eloader, i have the unzipped dump file in a new folder called DOWNDATER which is in root folder of psp, is everything set to go?

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:20
I think....

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:22
oh no i got a , disc could not read , message, what now?

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:22
did you put in the GTA UMD?

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:23
yes, i ran the DOWNDATATEST thing, and the memory card light flashed for a few seconds, like it said it would, then i got disc could not read

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:24
oh wait, on the post about downgrader it says you might get this message, it says i should take out battery and reboot

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:26
your sure you GTA UMD isnt patched right?

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:26
still 2.6, not bricked

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:27
yes its not patched, i could use it to run some homebrew

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:29
thats odd. see, i think the 1.5 firmware dump has to be placed in special folders, thats why you should download the full version of the downgrader, which i cant find right now...

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:30
yes, there also seems to be files missing here from the game/downdater test folder

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:31
i would probably be faster signing up to one of the sites, dont you think?

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:32
ya. let me find you that one site i found...

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:35
got the pm thanks :d

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:35
your welcome :)

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:43
this gonna sound dumb but im logged in on that site, at that post and there is no download link  ill have another look on the post

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 00:44
ok. it should be there somewhere???

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 00:58
the file has been removed i think, a few other people cant download it either, there was one person that described the same problem i had, exact same, then she said "sod it, i just moved some folders and BOOM it worked " too bad she didnt mention what folders -.-

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 01:01
crap...that sux. i could do it for you, but i dont really want to upload 10 MB...

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 01:03
i might know the thing i did wrong..

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 01:04
when i put the dump in the root, do i just put the dump file there, or do i have to make a new folder myself, called DOWNDATER, and put it in that?

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 01:14
I've sent you a very good PM ;) :D

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 01:18

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 01:22

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 01:31
w00t omg, thank you so much...god :P :d ;)

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 01:32

Video_freak

mrpontius
August 14th, 2006, 02:44
Video, i need an Eboot loader to run the homebrew right? i cant find any, this is a very stressfull day, please have a look at this when you have time.....or if anyone could help

Video_freak
August 14th, 2006, 04:05
You don't need an eLoader for 1.5. :laughs histarically:
You just put the two folders that come with the homebrew (Example and example%) inside GAME and run it straight from the PSP's menu.

andrew24
August 14th, 2006, 23:40
