Hi everyone

I have an old 60gb ps3 and going to pick up a new slim, I want to copy the entire contents from my old to my new one, simple! Not so, my Ethernet input has stopped working and the problem can not be sorted. Is there any other way I can duplicate my system, I want to keep my trophies, game data and all that info. Downloads can always be redownloaded but it's all those bits that go with my profile etc.

Thanks for taking the time to read my question:thumbup:

The way I transfer my data, is via an external drive... You can keep your trophies if you do the backup/restore from the menus, even all the installed titles from the store.

An external drive of 80GB or more is always useful, for either copying to a different machine, or upgrading the memory and restoring the data.

Be careful, copy any game saves to a usb stick or something. i used the ps3 backup utility with a fat format external drive and when trying to restore it failed. i lost all my save data...be very careful!!!
