heres a screenshot of the actual message that pops up after the psp "attempts to load" the homebrew.

August 17th, 2006, 04:29
Thanks kando for the link ;)
Its 30 MB, so it might take me a minute to download (1/4 MB per second)

August 17th, 2006, 04:30
pleasure ^_^

August 17th, 2006, 04:31
How does a PSP error (right at the end of the video) equate to "Omg!!! I Can Run Homebrew on 2.60 using etc" ? It does not run or even start homebrew.

August 17th, 2006, 04:31
well, ill show you why...incoming video #2

August 17th, 2006, 04:32
Usually, it just says "Data is corrupt" and doesn't even attempt to load. I don't find this amazing, but maybe that one guy does (or he's looking for attention ;))

August 17th, 2006, 04:35
EVERY OTHER homebrew produces these results, as you'll see in video 2, except for 0okm's...which means he's doing something.

compare & contrast those....same psp btw. if you want me to make a new one of the second video w/ me powering it up and showing system version...just ask :)

i hope someone makes good use of this :O

August 17th, 2006, 04:44
This is good news, but it's nothing for now as it doesn't actually load it. :(

August 17th, 2006, 04:47
one step in the right direction tho...theres a GOOD chance if he could do that, he could make something load...i wonder if he knows that his programs manage to do this?

im not as excited as that other guy....but im pretty hyped, this is news to me ^_^

there is hope for us TA-082 users!!! i know it!

August 17th, 2006, 04:49
Yeah, i believe he does know.Check out his blog;)

August 17th, 2006, 04:51
It's like what happened on 1.5 PSPs before KXPloit, it would just try to load, then fail. If they make something kinda like what they did for 1.5 users (KXPloit) maybe there's hope. :)

August 17th, 2006, 04:54
ahh kk, well ty for bringing me back to reality, was a fun ride =p

August 17th, 2006, 05:01
It is a definite sighn o' progress though! We just need an exploit that doesn't require gta

August 17th, 2006, 05:03

August 17th, 2006, 05:05

August 17th, 2006, 05:48
that message also pops up when you take the disk out before a game loads, it also used to pop up on my 1.5 when i was trying to load coded arms after i accidently deleted a file

August 17th, 2006, 08:22
i got the same error with my edited eboot updater...lol

August 17th, 2006, 10:40
Thanx Man

August 17th, 2006, 14:57
Let me make a prediction.

Try this with any v1.0-formatted EBOOT on your 2.0+ PSP.

I think it will behave the same as the Ookm USB app you tried.

Then try it with any v1.5-formatted (kxploit) EBOOT. I think you'll get the corrupted data error.

In other words : I believe this is just the difference between kxploit and non-kxploit, since the kxploit version is a simple ELF renamed as EBOOT.PBP, whereas the non-kxploit is a genuine complete (but unsigned) EBOOT.PBP.

(Actually this might be the other way around, now I think about it ... but you get the point).

once again this proves nothing. fanjita pointed out the obvious.

all you have discoved is that 2.0 up firmwares do not run unsigned code....duh
