So i just bought a max media dock and a 1 gig CF card from circuit city. I am able to play MP3s and a video file on it fine.

now i have been looking up stuff on whether it can play NES and SNES roms (thats really what i wanted a flash cart for, so I can play NES and SNES and some homebrew stuff) and have mixed, and beating around the bushes kind of answers to the question I have:

how do you get nesDS to work on Max Media Dock/Player?

I would like this answered once and for all.

I have done the following.

-DLed the latest version of nesDS (nesDS-WIP)
-DLed NDStool
-executed make_nds.bat
-opened the folder icon, and put some (or a) .nes rom into the file.
-hit save and out comes an nesDS.nds file (along with the gba one)

-dragged the .nds file to both the root folder on the MMD and/or in the games folder of MMD (tried both at the same time and at seperate times).

-I disconnect the card from the PC and turn on my ds and it boots up MMP. I navigate to the folder where the .nds are stored.

-it starts up nesDS. And then i get the NO ROMS FOUND error.

I've definitely read some posts on other forums that nesDS has worked on MMD with MMP. Please someone tell me what i'm doing wrong or am not doing. Max Overload also does not work.

things i've tried to alleviate this problem:
-reformatted the CF in both fat and fat 32.
-gotten new batch of roms
-used 1.01 AND 1.33 versions of MMP.

the roms work with nesterDS btw. its kinda crappy and i can't save.

Does NO ONE read any of the posts here before buying crap like that?

The Dock is crap. C. R. A. P. ETC. Nothing good works on it.

NES DS must not like it. Sorry, you might be boned.

That's it, I'm making a decent homebrew guide.

Greetings Stryder. First things first: The Max Media Player and Dock suck balls. I had the player, could do nothing. I got the Dock now. Can do more, but still, if you get the money, go with M3 or G6. They play everything NES, SNES, Genesis, GBA, save games, etc.

Second: I had the same problem you are having. I bought a 1GB SanDisk CF from Best Buy, and got the same messages you are getting. I think it's your card.

I ordered a 2gb CF card from a website I got from Knux (another user on this forum), Meritline.com for $45. For an extra $10 I got mine in three days.

Now I can play most NES and, SNES roms (under 1.5MB)

Try that.

The media dock is not a bad "cheap" solution.

The only problem I've had is with video.. I haven't gotten that to work out of the box. I hear you have to use moonshell.. yada yada yada. Someday I will work on that.

However, NDS backups work fine with a good CF card. My best card thus far has been the PNY Compact Flash 1 GB Optima.

I had a Sandisk 512 and EVERYTHING crashed on it. Now all my NDS backups, and NES homebrew games work fine.

If I could get an atari 2600 emulator to work I'd be in Heaven.

If anyone has any questions... (no piracy questions)... i'll be glad to assist.
