Analysts are a funny bunch. Although often armed to the hilt with qualifications and random letters behind their names, they often just state the bleeding obvious. Recent analytical highlights we've heard go along the lines of "the PS2 is doing very well indeed" or "GameCube's not having much luck right now".[br]With that in mind, it is with great pleasure we present to you an analyst quote that's a little bit different... cue Mr Michael Pachter.[br][br]Speaking at Positioning for Profitability in the Video Game Economy, the man stated that he had heard that Sony is working on another PSP model housing a 50-gigabyte hard drive. He then added that a prototype of the new portable could materialise before the end of this year, but mass production of the new device would probably not happen until next year. [br][br]Being that the PSP is MP3 capable and able to playback encoded non-UMD movies via memory stick, a hard drive would definitely be welcome - though whether a super-battery is also being added to not only solve poor battery life problems and support the new drive is yet to be seen. [br]Also, these are only the words of an analyst. We received no official comment from Sony at time of going to press. Rest assured that when we know more, so shall ye, readers.
