I think the title says it all, What would everyone recommend? I just got a dreamcast recently and I don't have a million CD-Rs to try out every game and application out there, so what is the best? I already have BeatsofRage.

I already have BeatsofRage.
Well the original is just one game.

You should check out LavaLit's (http://lavalit.com/) Dreamcast section for BOR mods.

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, so here's a quick rundown.

System/App -> Best version/port

* Excellent
NES -> NesterDC (either "7.x" or "SE")
Sega Genesis -> GenesisPlusDc (blackaura)
Sega Master/Game Gear -> SMSPlus DC
Neo-Geo (Cd-Rom) -> NEO4All
Neo-Geo (Cartridge) -> AES4All
Doom I/II/Final -> Doom for Dreamcast
Quake -> NxMakaqu

* Worth trying
SNES -> DreamSNES
PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 -> PCECast

* Apps
VCD Player -> VC/DC
Misc Video Player -> DCPlaya (override)
VMU Utility -> Dream Explorer

Also, the Dreamcast.es collection here (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=190072) is worth downloading.

How could I forget....

For various point-and-click adventure games, ScummVM (http://www.scummvm.org/) is the way to go for the classics.

I can personally verify the following, and if the "talkie" version works great, I'd imagine the standard floppy version would too.

* Runs Great
Beneath a Steel Sky (cd talkie/floppy)
Day of the Tentacle (cd talkie)
Flight of the Amazon Queen (cd talkie/floppy)
Loom (cd Talkie)
Maniac Mansion
Secret of Monkey Island I/II (floppy)
Simon the Sorcerer (cd talkie)

* Worth Trying
Broken Sword (laggy audio)
Drascula (laggy audio)
Full Throttle (bugs)
The Dig (crashes, save often)

I've also heard from other users that the following work
awesomely on the Dreamcast ScummVM.

* Recommended by others
DiscWorld I/II (floppy)
Elvira I/II
Goblins I/II/III (floppy)
I Have No Mouth
The Legend Of Kyrandia (floppy)
Sam & Max Hit the Road (cd talkie/floppy)
Simon the Sorcerer II (floppy)
Touche: The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer (cd-talkie)
WaxWorks
