THIS THREAD IS VERY OLD! & VERY OUT DATED... THESE THEMES ARE FOR 1.5 FIRMWARE PSP ONLY. INSTALLING THESE ON OE CUSTOM FIRMWARE WILL CAUSE BRICKS!!

MODS - FOR GODS SAKE, WILL YOU PLEASE DELETE THIS DAMN THREAD BEFORE IT CAUSES DAMAGED PSPS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RECOMMENDED ONLY FOR ADVANCED USERS (noobies should note that this program, as with any program that writes to the PSP's flash, has a small chance of bricking your PSP. Especially if used incorrectly) With that being said the chances of it are rare, as I have personally flashed my PSP hundreds of times without a problem.

Welcome to the PSP Theme thread. ThemePSP was created by Sodr. Thanks to him people now have the freedom to fully customise their PSP's. :) This thread contains everything neccesary to fully customise your PSP.:) Also included is the Sodr's Theme Creator Pack. It has all the tools needed to create your own themes. And please do share your created themes with us!!

STUFF YOU"LL NEED

Theme PSP v1.2- Put this on your PSP. It installs the themes. It also comes with the "Default XMB" theme, so you can restore your PSP back to it's original state with a single press of a button. Also, it can install themes to DevHook firmwares!
DOWNLOAD BELOW

http://i10.tinypic.com/4gg7n9j.jpg

Theme Creator Pack- Includes everything you need to make your own themes. Very simple to use. Give it a try! DOWNLOAD BELOW

HarleyG's 0.2 Custom Firmware- YOU DO NOT NEED THIS But it is highly recommended. This Theme PSP does flash your PSP's internal memory. And as always there is a slight chance that this could brick your PSP. With that being said I have flashed my PSP literally dozens of times with this app, and had no problems what so ever. I HIGHLEY recommend using HarleyG's 0.2 Custom Firmware. It features a "Recovery Mode", where you can unbrick your PSP. (Not in all cases. But it will unbrick anything that Theme PSP could do to it. Such as installing corrupted font ect...) It should also be noted that this custom firmware allows you to take pictures of your PSP's XMB. (The main menu screen) This is useful for sharing a preview of any themes you might be sharing with us.;) DOWNLOAD BELOW

PSPShot v0.3 You can use this to take a picture of your PSP's XMB, if your not into the whole Custom Firmware thing. DOWNLOAD BELOW

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU HAVE DOWNGRADED YOUR PSP WITH AN "AUTOMATIC DOWNGRADER" THAN YOUR FIRMWARE IS "TAINTED" THIS MEANS USING EITHER THEME PSP OR harleyG's CUSTOM FIRMWARE COULD BRICK YOUR PSP. (I HAVE NOW HEARD OF SEVERAL CASES OF THIS) IT IS POSSIBLE TO "CLEAN" YOUR FIRMWARE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS UPGRADE IT TO 2.00 FIRMWARE, AND THEN DOWNGRADE BACK TO A 1.5 FIRMWARE.

I strongley urge you to create your own themes and share them with us.:D

SOME TIPS-

-Having trouble getting the resolution of your backgrounds lower? Check post #173 on pg 18 of this thread for an easy answer. ;)

-There are many different image hosting services. Use them to share a preview of any themes you might be sharing with us. One of them is www.tinypic.com

-There are many file sharing servers out there. You can upload your themes on them to share with us. Some examples are:
www.megaupload.com
www.thefilehut.com
www.sendmefile.com

-If your not handy with photo shop, you can find pre-made backgrounds at www.pspwallpapers.com
MAKE SURE TO CREDIT THEM IF YOU DO. All backgrounds for themes should be in .bmp format. They need to be less than 150Kb in size. And the dimensions need to be 300x170 or less. If your in PSPwallpapers.com than click on the pic you want. Then click the "Customise" button below it. Then download it. If you do this it will come formatted to the above specifications.

-If you were wondering how to use the "Custom Boot Sound Tool" in the creator pack, then check out this FAQ: BOOTSOUND FAQ (http://forums.qj.net/showpost.php?p=504032&postcount=17)

-THIS SITE DOES NOT HOST CUSTOM GAMEBOOTS:( THE ONLY TOOLS TO MAKE THEM ARE ILLEGAL. THUS, CUSTOM GAMEBOOTS ARE ILLEGAL. IF YOU WANT, PUT YOUR EMAIL ADRESS IN YOUR POST AND SEND PEOPLE CUSTOM GAMEBOOTS BY REQUEST BUT DO NOT POST THEM OR USE THIS SITES PM SYSTEM TO DISTRIBUTE THEM!!! IF YOU DO,YOUR THEME WILL BE REMOVED & YOU WILL BE BANNED. LET'S KEEP IT CLEAN GUYS:) ALSO NO NUDITY OR OFFENSIVE IMAGES ALLOWED.

-If you post a (decent) theme, it will be added to the list here on the front page. This thread is updated on a constant basis.:D If any of these links expire, let me know- and I'll fix 'em.;)

you don't have to post the gameboot :)

Wow ! That's soo nice.. Gotta download those files.. But.. Do I need Devhook in some way to put them ? Or just the Theme PSP ? And what's a 'custom gameboots' anyway ?

M!ckeY
September 1st, 2006, 10:55
a custom gameboot is well....a gameboot the you use to replace the original gameboot with, you know when ever you start a game, that little video that plays :)

Err.. Still don't understand.. Isn't that just a little movie off from your game ? How can you 'customized' it and why is it illegal ? And why should and how could someone took it and post it ?? And where's Motoko's Sexy Bitches theme ??

Damn.. I got a lot to catch up !

M!ckeY
September 1st, 2006, 11:14
my theme contains too much nudity :)
yes, it a movie off of the games, but you can use them to replace the movie your psp plays when you launch a game...therefore customizing your psp.

some are illegal because they where made using leaked Sony tools, or so i have heard

i hope that clarified a few things :)

donne
September 1st, 2006, 11:24
..I have no offense for nudity ;)

Oh I see.. but why anybody care about some little low-res movie ? Beats me.. But I'm crystal with the term now..

On to my next question : Do this theme-thing involve flashing in anyway or simply off the memory-stick ? Read a bit on QJ while downloading.. And there's a sentence that worried me..

M!ckeY
September 1st, 2006, 11:27
flashing is required if you do it to your 1.50 psp, but if you do it to 2.71, via devhook then no flashing is required :)

donne
September 1st, 2006, 11:36
--Skip the first option :D

Let me get this clear..
You mean the emulated 2.71 of Devhook ? So I just run the eboot or something while I'm in 2.71 mode ? But that also means when I reset the PSP, I'll go back to 1.5 without the themes, right ?

M!ckeY
September 1st, 2006, 11:40
yes, the emulated 2.71

the theme is not an eboot, they are seperate files that you have to install manually.

yes, you will return to your 1.50 without the themes, because the themes will only be on your emulated 2.71 :)

Hey Mr. Cheese your the download to your files dont work.

That's Mr. Shizzy. lol. Anyway the links are fixed.:D :) :D

To answer some questions:

To install a theme, just download ThemePSP (it's on the 1st page) Then dl a theme. Put Theme PSP on your PSP & put the theme you want inside Theme PSP in the "theme" folder. Then start ThemePSP and pick where you want to install your Theme. (1.5, or a Devhook firmware). The only thing you CAN NOT put in a Devhook firmware (above 1.5) is Custom Menu Names. THESE WON"T WORK ABOVE 1.5 firmware. In the Theme PSP menu, press square on ant Theme in there & you can pick what parts of a theme to install. (Everything, just font...ect)
As for gameboots. Any gameboot ripped from an actuall UMD is legal. Any "homemade" custom Gameboots are illegal. This is b/c the only way to make one is to illegally steal a leaked set of tools. DCemu will not tolerate the posting of illegal gameboots. If you post one, your theme will be removed, and the MODS may even decide to ban you. Also, the "Theme Creator Pack" is on the first page of this thread. It is incedibly easy to make your own theme. If you make one please share it with us.:) And please upload a preview pic for us. (Use www.tinypic.com). I'll upload more themes as I get the time.

Here's my RESIDENT EVIL 4 theme. I liked this background so much, that this theme displays it year round. (But if you download feel free to add other pics for your theme if you like)
-Custom menu names. (ie..Memory Stick is renamed to Health ect...)
-Blood of Dracula font. (thanks to Dafont.com)
-"Pop Slash" gameboot. (It's from Prince of Persia-it's legal)
-It will play "Resident Evil Zero" End credits song while it installs on your PSP :)

The thing is, the only way to make them is by using leaked umd tool's, official ones from sony, and that's illegal.

by the way, has there been any problems with using these with the harley g custom firmware…
i dont think there will be, but i used to have a metal gear theme, until i restored the original before adding the custom firmware…however my metal gear gameboot did not get replaced. everything works though, it just worries me about adding another theme…

No it's fine. I use HarleyG's Custom Firmware 0.2. I think I had to reinstall my theme too afterwards.

Also, I've used ThemePSP to FLASH themes to my custom firmware hundreds of times, and never had to recover a brick. :D

It isn't really. Homebrew is 100% legal, but using leaked sony umd tools which cost $2000 to buy a license to use them as a developer IS illegal.

!!!WARNING!!!

DO NOT USE THE CUSTOM THEME PROGRAM IF YOU DOWNGRADED STRAIGHT FROM 2.71!!!

The custom theme program has a high chance of ruining your PSP if you did a straight 2.71 -> 1.50 downgrade.

If you have downgraded from 2.71, do not to use custom themes unless you've first upgraded to 2.00 and then downgraded to 1.50 again.

i ran into a problem with mine.I'm creating a Pink Floyd theme, but so far, only the wallpaper and font work. When i go to use it, i get the original psp bootsound, but it shows my wallpaper, it wont even show the default gameboot.
I'm not trying to change the gameboot, just the bootsound.
Once i get this figured out, I'll post pics.

Sorry. But this is only for 1.5 PSP's bro. If your motherboard isn't a TA-082 you should really consider downgrading. They do have "automatoc" downgraders you know? But that's totally up to you.
If you have a 1.5 and use HarleyG's 0.2 customfirmware, it is possible to unbrick your PSP but only from certain things, such as a corrupted font, background, gameboot, or bootsound. The good news is anything PSP Theme could do to possibly brick your PSP is fixable. You can find harleyG's Firmware on the front page. If your ever interested in downgrading, PM me. I'll do my best to make the downgrade successful for you. :)

(remebering from ages ago, may not work now)on the barcode part of the box, there is a letter (dunno where) but the different letters represent the different firmwares (although its not as simple as a=1.0,b=1.5,c=1.51,etc, as one of the firmwares, 2.01 or 2.02 i think has like 5 letters all to itself, or something like that)

Heres a link that should help:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272463

I (foolishly) updated my PSP back in the day. Instead of waiting for a downgrader, I traded it in @ EB Games. The guy kinda looked at me Strange when I told him I wanted to use the credit to buy another PSP. I simply (lied) and told him I make my own games, & can only test them on the 1.5 firmware. I just figured any talks of homebrew or emulators would send him into a rage. To make a long story short, he let me manually check the System Info screen on all the used PSPs until I found the one I wanted. :D This may or may not work, depending on how cool the guy at your local gamestore is.

Oh, and 1 more thing. I've already said this on the front page, but I'll say it again. If you downgrade a PSP from a firmware higher than 2.00, then you should update back up to 2.00, and then downgrade back to 1.5 BEFORE you go flashing it. There have been several reports (and I have experienced 1st hand) that it may cripple or brick your PSP if you don't!!!

May I ask, why are you not supposed to flash a background which is larger than 150 KBs? If it is 300x170* or whatever resolution was to keep it under 150 KBs, it streches it alot.

Edit: Also, is there a way to make the font color black instead of grey and such?

Here is another Final Fantasy theme I made. There may be another like it, but this is what I made for myself and I decided I'd share it. I don't remember which website I got the background from, so sorry to whoever's it is.

Note: Certian homebrew icons tend to show up in an odd fashion, and some just show up as a white square. I don't know if it is like this with all custom themes, but if you know how to fix it tell me please.

From my experiences, I don't think a BG will display on a 1.5 if it doesn't meet those two requirements. And yes, there is a way to change the font color on your XMB. You would have to seek out & install (flash) a vsh mod to your PSP. As far as I know there would be no way to actually include different colored fonts to your theme pack. Although, interestingly enough, if you check out the Shadow of Colossus Theme I made (pg 9) The fonts are indeed colored. They even seem to change color by the month. I have absolutley no idea how this happened, but it looks wicked cool. :D Does anyone know how to do this? If so, let us know. :)
Thanks for sharing your Final Fantasy Theme with us. :) I will add it to the list on the front page of this thread. I'll also upload a preview pic for everyone. :)

Yes thats true. But it is a very small inconvienence. Do you really need more than 15 themes backed up at a time? lol. Look, I'm not being sarcastic at all. If you do feel the need to have that many themes on your memory stick, I have two possible suggestions
for you:

1) Edit the tag on the ThemePSP eboot to another name, and keep two ThemePSPs on your ms.

OR

2)Make a folder on the root of your ms called "Themes" (or whatever) and put all the themes you want there. You can use IR Shell to cut & paste them in ThemePSP, and install them anytime!

I hope this helps.:)

gymnotropic- Thank you for sharing your themes with us. :) From now on when you upload them could you please use tinypic.com to upload a screenshot for us? Also, instead of using a file hosting service, could you please just click "go advanced" (next to where you hit the button to put your post up on here) and then hit "manage attachments" to upload your themes? Not trying to be picky. But it would make life a whole lot easier on me.

Oh one more thing...try not to put the folder containing your theme, in another folder before you .rar it. Theme PSP can't read 2 folders deep. It will say it installed the theme, but it won't. This may confuse people. Thanks in advance for your consideration. :)

2)Make a folder on the root of your ms called "Themes" (or whatever) and put all the themes you want there. You can use IR Shell to cut & paste them in ThemePSP, and install them anytime!

I hope this helps.:)

yea im copy and pasting from irshell atm, basically i was using it for gameboots, as a quick gameboot changer....but after enough folders it goes to poop :(

i look foward to future versions of this program :)

Oh that reminds me. I figured out how to easily change your font color (In DevHook anyways). In your devhook firmware, go Settings in XMB, go to the "Theme" setting. Click on that. Scroll down and you will notice different colors (blue, green , ect). Click on the one you want your font to be. The background will turn white. Thats OK. Then click on the same one again. Your background will reappear. This time when you exit out, the font will be tinted whatever color you picked. :) (You can notice a slight blue tint in the above spongebob theme I got pictured above. Your font will NOT have this tint unless the theme is installed on a DevHook firmware, and you select that color in "Theme" on the XMB)

Sweet -thanks Hod85. As soon as I update the front page list you will be up there.

EDIT: Hod85, I uploaded your theme to the site server. It's better that way. Your link will download for ppl faster, it will never expire, and you can keep track of how many people dwnload your theme. :) To upload to the site server next to "post quick reply" when you post, click "go advanced" right next to it. Then click "manage attatchments". Oh and I just wanted to say one more time. I love the Warriors Theme. :) Nice work!

lmtlmt - These are themes for your XMB. Not custum eboots for emulators ect... I did see a thread for that in the forum some where though. Also, as soon as I get the time I am gonna start a .AT3 request thread. Those files can e used to customise eboots with any sound clip (up to 1 min long)

I came up with a sorta cool idea, while I was at work today. I wanted to see how it would look to make a wallpaper match the first frame of a gameboot, so it sort of sets the wallpaper into motion when you select a UMD or homebrew. It didn't come out bad. I used the "clouds.pmf" from Hot Shots Golf and put some clouds font with it (thanks dafont.com) Because of some modifications I've made to my DevHook, my emulated firmware wouldn't show a gameboot. (I was just gonna use the DevHook Record Mod to make a gif of it to show you guys) This preview needs to be more than a still pic for people to really get an idea of how it looks. So anyway, I ended up having to hook my PSP up to my DVD recorder with NYCO's PSP to TV adaptor, and then uploading the .vob to youtube.com It was alot just to get the preview up, but I think this could possibly lead to some cool themes. What do you guys (and girls) think?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rtpnddba8YU

Oh, I also took the wavy lines off the XMB, and addad a cool bootsound. It's a woman computer voice saying "A perfect immortal machine" lol Hope you guys like. :)

-Custom bootsound "Initializing Startup Sequnce" (thanks mrdlouisd :) )
- (legal) pop slash gameboot.
-removed the XMB's wavy lines, just as shadow intended this for theme.

Thanks shadow! I think our forum members will enjoy this!

I think you may have misunderstood what happened. themepsp was put on, following your sites instructions to thte letter, then a loaded the 'darth vader' theme onto it, loaded that theme up and now all that happens is the startupscreen shows, with the imperial march, then it goes to the blue screen of dseath saying corrupt settingas, and every single time i press 'o', it loops back to this screen.

Yes I understand bro. But ThemePSP can install to a devhook firmware, or to your 1.5 fw. You still haven't specified which you installed it to. Also I wanted to know exactly which parts of the theme you installed. Did you just install the bootsound, or did you install everything ect... You should also note that I personally test all themes I make before I release them. So you definently didn't get anything bad from my Darth Vader download. You still haven't told us if you have custom firmware or not...Bro I am so sorry your PSP is messed up. :( Unfortunatley sometimes bricks happen w/o explanation when you flash your PSP. It's always a risk, as clearly stated in the ThemePSP read me as well as on this thread. Again I'm very sory this has happened to you. But if you want help possibly fixing your PSP, then you need to post more info on what happened.

EDIT: Also, you should note that Pimp MY PSP theme is not hosted on this site. I would be very careful of where you download stuff from. Especially if it something you are going to flash to your PSP ! Once again, I personally test ALL themes I've made on my very own PSP before I upload them. :)

hiya.

thanks for the swift reply.

right then, here goes.

I added all aspects of the theme, i.e. didnt 'untick' any options.

i didnt change the bottom part of the themepsp screen, so i aint sure if it said 'flash0' or ms0.

the bad thing it, i dont have harleyg's installed. if i copy and paste the harleyg recovery file into the root of the 'stick, will it help? if it is a brick then hey ho, i have a nice new shiny white one anyway and wont topuch that one, i was basically gonna have one for playing, and one for developing, but i guess i got me first taste of defeat... hehehe

Also, not sure what you thought i may have implied, but i knew the risk and never for a second even thought it was someone elses fault, i'm one of those people who will take accountability and not blame others for a cock up if thats whats happened.

I have no doubt in the fact that they are all tested, i just confused as to why this should happen?

Oh, man, I was hoping you had HarleyG's 0.2 custom firmware. From the sounds of it, you are still able to access your memory stick on your PC? This is a good sign. Are you able to get to the XMB at all? If not, how are you getting into USB mode? Was your PSP originally a 1.5 or did you downgrade it? And one more question: How many times have you flashed your PSP? (I've heard some ppl say you can only flash it so many times. But I have a hard time believing that. As I have flashed mine what seems like hundreds of times now, without a hitch.)
Oh, have you ever made any other modifications to your firmware before? And here's the biggie: How much battery life did you have when you flashed it? You really should have nearly a full charge when you flash your PSP.

Also, not sure what you thought i may have implied, but i knew the risk and never for a second even thought it was someone elses fault, i'm one of those people who will take accountability and not blame others for a cock up if thats whats happened.

I wasn't sure if you were about to start a flame fest on me. I saw that ( ) symbol on top of one of your posts. Then you said "I followed your instructions to the word". So I thought you might have been a little sour about your unfortunate experience. The only reason I even started this thread is b/c it was one way I thought I could "give a little back" to the scene that has given me so much. So I'm sorry if my reply sounded as if I thought you were blaming it on me. Thanks for keeping a positive attitude through this. Again, I am so sorry that this has happened to you. Please post answers to my the rest of my questions, and hopfully we can find a solution to your problem. The fact that you said you may be able to access your USB is a very good sign. Hopefully we can get this situation fixed. :)

it was a 2.01, upgraded to 2.71, then dg'd to 1.50. i have a memory stick reader so thats how i can access the memory card.

the battery was full, and the ac was in, every time i added a new program, but this was the first time flashing after the downgrade.

and why do i have a warning? bit harsh as i am only asking for help....

I'm not sure what your referring to. If you got a warning from a mod, it may have been from doing so much "double posting". If you want to add something to your post, just click the edit button on the lower right hand corner of that post. If I had to take a guess on how your PSP got bricked, I would say it was from flashing on a "dirty firmware". Whenever you downgrade to 1.5 from anything other than 2.00, you are left with a "tainted" firmware. (Form what I understand those downgraders only replace certain files in the flash, leaving others from the higher firmware. So flashing to it can often produce bricks. :( ) After downgrading from a firmware higher than 2.0, the only way to get a "real " 1.5 firmware is to upgrade to 2.0 , and than downgrade to 1.5 I don't believe you could use a ms reader to put HarleyG's on it now, b/c even though you could put a update eboot on it, the PSP doesn't have recovery mode, so it would have no way to load it. :( The only suggestions I would have for you at this point are:

1) Send it to SONY, and explain to them how your "battery fell out" while you were doing an official update. (Call them first, of course)

2) Check to see if your warrenty is still good. (If you have one)

3) Unbrick it with a mod chip

4) find someone with a broken PSP (with a good mother board of course) and replace your mother board. (Check E-Bay)

I would try these in the order of: 2, 1, 3, 4 (not the order listed above) I wish I knew of a way to fix it bro. :( You could also try starting a thread in thr help forum, and see if anyone else has any ideas. If there is anything else I can do to help, just let me know. :)

Yes. I will do Motoko 250's request, yours, and 1 more after that. Than I will be concentrating my efforts in others areas for awhile. ( I just started a Bootsound request thread HERE (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=38722) ) This doesn't mean I woun't still be doing themes. (I have alot of cool ideas up my sleave) But I won't be taking requests for a little while. However, there are now quite a few ppl making themes, and they may be open to requests.

I'm not sure what your request was though. Please post exactly what it is ( a cartoon or something) I've nver heard of what ever it was you posted before. Let me know, and I'll "Get 'er Done ! :D

OK. All my theme request slots are full for now. :)
1)Motoko 250
2)yugifan156
3)Acidburn05

all can expect requests coming. Every one else keep checking back. As I still plan on making themes. Not to mention all the sweet themes everyone else is making. (I am far from the best anyway with graphics any way- as, shadow,Tetris999 and a few others have already put me to shame lol) Besides, I can easily do 5 or so Bootsound requests a day! :D (as opposed to 1 theme request every 2-4 days)

Mr. Shizzy

Dude, thanks for sharing that kick a$$ theme :). But could you please explain how that gameboot is legal? As far as I know, the only way to make a .mps file (which is then made into a .pmf [gameboot] file) is with the notorious leaked UMD Tools.??

Hello again i posted a while back about my psp being bricken from the themes. It was a 2.71 then i downgraded to 1.5. I recently was just playing with it and it started a recovery mode thingy. My question is how do i get there again and can that unbrick my psp. Isnt there a away to get in usb mode from there and hopefully fix it with some program?

okey dokey i thinky that you can fix ure psp up

fore herlygs custom firmware turn on the psp and VERY QUICKLY make it go into hold mode

for dark Alex POC firmware hold the R button while the psp boots up

now both custom firms have a usb connection sooo then get your self a 2.00 upgrade (not 2.81) now then do the usb connection thingy put that EBOOT into the UPDATE<----Spelled like this so you can upgrade your psp to 2.00 (if the eboot came in a UPDATE FOLDER ALREADY then youre cool. SO NOW GO TO THE GAME folder and put the UPDATE into your psp, After that there shud be an option to start the 2.00 update in the recovery menu. DO IT. if you can sucessfully update your psp 2.00 then youre okay then downgrade your psp to 1.5 YAY youre done! (2.00 downgrading makes your psp firmware CLEAN so when you have downgraded from firm 2.71 dude is that your firmware was messed up which caused the brick)

I will release more themes on this site, when we get a mod to post exactly what DCemu's policys are regarding what can be included with these themes. (Ripped gameboots?) I know we can't have custom gameboots on this site, but if we can't even use ripped gameboots, than it is pointless to even have a theme thread. :(

Well really, it would seem to me even ripped gameboots would be illegal. They are taken from copyrighted discs.

Mr. Shizzy
October 23rd, 2006, 07:11
I'm not sure if they are or not anymore to be honest. I have alot of respect for DCemu, and I like the fact that they are 100% legal. :) I wish a mod would give us a definent answer. If ripped gameboots are legal then great, I will keep up the requests. But if not, than a mod needs to delete this thread. That's all there is to it. ;)

mhh i think the ripped gameboots are not ilegal if you bought the umd game but then you downloaded the is:) then it could be ilegal and one question are custom gameboots ( not from umd games) ilegal or not

I didn't really use PSP theme, but I did make a devil may cry theme using PSPset, and PSPersonalize, as well as PSPBrew to make my eboots the same theme as my background. Check it out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75lIiFcJVZs

I also changed my 1.5 boot graphic to another devil may cry themed gameboot. Another update would be customizing all the emulators I got to match my graphics.

My theme? I just took a psp background from some source and built a theme on it, just adding the BG to both 1.5 and 2.71 dh. I also just photoshopped some nice blood splatter brushes to customize eboots.

Tetris thanks for the theme. :) I'll add all the new ones to the first post by tomorrow. I really don't want to do anything more with this thread until a MOD gives us an answer on whats allowed and whats not. (Ripped gameboots, what it the stipulations on bootsounds?) this is my favorite web site, I don't want to get myself into any hot water here. MODS- if ripped gameboots aren't allowed, than please close this thread!!! Almost all these themes have ripped gameboots, and I don't have the time to remove them. Plus, it would really be pointless to have a theme thread in that case. Maybe someone could start a background thread.

November 3rd, 2006, 17:45
i think as long as the gameboot hasnt been ripped from a UMD, and was created by someone, wether the tools used were legal or not....as long as you are not SELLING them or not claiming that you created them, i think they should be allowed.

Hi all. I just wanted to formally announce that I will no longer be able to keep this thread updated.:( I will add all the themes released prior to this post to the list on the front page of this thread. It will be much easier for me just to share themes, than manage a thread. I've been extremely busy these days. If you would like to check out any themes I release in the future, then please visit:

It's an awesome site. I highly recommend it. :)

Sorry about the double post.

gamerremag: You need to look into UFlash, or another flashing app made specifically for 2.71 SE. Applying stuff with ThemePSP to 2.71 SE will brick your PSP !
