Hello, I want to modify a certain game. It's mostly texture edits, but there might be a couple level edits and a default config change. Basically, I want to extract a game's cdi, change the stuff I want, and then stuff it back into another cdi that is compatible with either an emulator or a real (modded or dev) dreamcast. Problem is, I don't know how to get the game to boot after I mod it. Maybe my procedure is wrong. You decide.

1. convert cdi to iso.
2. fix iso
3. extract stuff from iso.
4. replace files in extracted foldier.
5. rebuild iso.
6. convert iso into self bootable cdi
7. boot the game on an emulator, to get the sega screen, and then the dreamcast bios menu

what am i doing wrong?

We don't support ripping/converting/burning commercial games here, even if for legitimate purposes. If this is for some reason about homebrew stuff (which shouldn't require a CDI, since it would be easier to deal with the plain files), let me know and I'll unlock the thread.
