psp upgrade / homebrew help

hello all.

i am i need of a little help with my psp fat version. i bought this on 1st day of uk release some moons ago.

i dont know what version or software it had but i managed to downgrade it to version 1.5 using luminies umd.

i have installed loads of different emulators like snes9x, nesterj, pspgenesis, sfc1, sfc2, etc.

i am now in the process of getting some psp game iso files.

1) CAN I PLAY THE ISO GAME FILES ON VERSION 1.5 ??
2) SHOULD I UPGRADE MY PSP TO ANOTHER VERSION OR STAY ON 1.5 ?
3) HOW DO I STOP THE CORRUPT ICON SHOWING ON THE MEMORY CARD ? I USED APPMAN & IT STOPED SOME EMULATORS WORKING & DELETED ROM FILES.

please forgive me if this has been asked many times before !! i have searched the forum & cant find an answer.
