what if the game gear, a handheld, would be compatible with the Dreamcast VMS?
Just take an Inductive-capacitive filter and the out will go into an unused I/O pin on the both of them. the antenna will be you or ground. a crystal will be on both so signals could be sent. then a relay and a button will connect the two!
