'Sonic and the Secret Rings' and 'Sonic and the Black Knight' are part of a trilogy with a third game on the way.

That's according to Sega Mexico, revealing during a recent public event the firm's plan to complete the so-called "Sonic Storybook" trilogy with a third game 'in the future'.

Sonic and the Secret Rings launched in early 2007, followed by Sonic and the Black Knight in early 2009, both on Wii. Another Wii entry would seem likely, although the rep declined to reveal a platform or any further details.

The rep also confirmed that another Sega Superstars game is on the way, following after Sega Superstars Tennis and Sonic & Sega All-stars Racing.

Sonic fans should right now be buzzing with excitement over Sonic Generations, which arrives on PS3, 360 and 3DS in November.
