I know the limits and how to save them etc etc...

but why is it so fecking hard to save a .bmp file at 150k or 149k...

how do you guys save them and keep the filesize down ? bmp is naturally a bigger format anyways, so a link to some wallpapers which are made for 1.50 would be appreciated..

ta guys...

It isn't hard saving a bmp to 150kb. Save it as 24bit colour. And it HAS to be the same or below 300 x 170 resolution.

No its not hard, just awkrad.

For example - Ive been looking thru the boards and every wallpaper posted is 300 x 170 and weighs in at 152kb causing some real dodgey icons.

If I use a smaller resolution, I would end up with a board around the edge surley ?

it slows the xmb too, but plain black backgrounds look really good, since the waves are a script not writen on the backgrounds so it gives black waves.

I have the answer to your problem. It seems that even PSP Cropper will format them at 199 kb. (They need to be 150kb or less) What you need to do is open the image w/ Paint. Hide a single dot of any color, any where you can camoflage it on the pic. Save it. It will now be 149kb! :D :) :D
