Riot Games' online strategy title League of Legends has passed the 15 million registered users mark, the developer has announced.

1.4 million players are apparently logging on every 24 hours, with a game starting every 10 seconds on average. Gamers cumulatively spend 3.7 million hours in the game every day.

Not only that, but it seems the competitive scene is in fine shape too, with 1.69 million viewers tuning into the online broadcast of the Season One Championship. Concurrent viewers peaked at over 210,000.

"We are extremely proud and appreciative of the devoted League of Legends community which has grown substantially over the last year and a half," commented Riot CEO Brandon Beck.

"We're committed to continuing to match their dedication with our relentless focus on ongoing enhancements to the player experience with great new features, content, and polish – and we have some very exciting surprises in store just around the corner."

Impressive numbers, but not all is rosy in LoL land. Earlier this month, Riot Games attracted fans' ire by deciding to split its European playerbase into two separate groups, breaking up friendship groups.
