Art (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/search.php?searchid=732161) has released a new app for the PSP, heres the release details:

Yay!
Audio recording through the Socom microphone saved to file at last

Thanks to lteixeira's audio library of course! To be honest, with all this time he's been able to do this, and holding out, I'd be suprised if he doesn't come up with something much better.

To be honest though, the sample code sux as a stand alone app, and only really demonstrates it's possibilities to other programmers.

I'd like to continue this one, and wrap it in a nice graphic GUI, etc. for now it only records at high quality (a few minutes takes a 20Mb file).

Things To Do:
- Play at normal speed in reverse.
- Extend recording time.

!!!! READ THE README !!!!
Cheers, Art.

Time to go out and buy a Socom Headset!

This is really cool, especially if it can be implemented into other homebrew in the future.

Hmm I wonder if this would work as a good tape recorder, as I do have a head set, but I always reffered to it as a Syphon Filter head set =P I'm a bigger syphon filter fan than socom.

Good work Art, for another great contribute to the scene. And here i was thinking that you were near done, releasing the final version to your x-flash program, glad to see your still in action =D

All you need to do is speak into the rightside of your headphones in order to record. You don't need a Socom headset. Although I haven't tried this release. I tried the PSP memo recording program and it recorded at a very low level.

it works very well, i was pleasantly surprised, it would be better to make a clip mic to use instead though...if i get time ill do it

Once again. Does somebody want a tutorial for a adapter between psp and pc headset. I wanted to make but nobody is interrested....
Nice app. This is going the good way making VOIP posible. Made myself a good adapter so I can test this version and the versions to come.

Video freak, a mic and speaker are basically the same thing.
