My friend has a PSP with 2.70 on it.
Can I use a 2.71 downgrader on this?

If not, what are my options? can I upgrade to 2.71 without going higher?

Thanks in advance..

Get the 2.71 firmware from PSP-hacks. Upgrade and then format your MS and then use the downgrade. After successfully downgrading, downgrade to 1.0 and then back up to 1.5. This gives you a nice clean firmware with no bugs.

ok download the 2.71 update eboot, make an UPDATE folder in the GAME folder, put the 2.71 update eboot in the UPDATE folder, then run it from the XMB(main psp screen), then u can run the 2.71 downgrader

hello.

i have psp with 2.50 firmware on it. I do the same like u did? first upgrade to 2.71 (with file on psp-hacks) and then downgrade to 1.5.

My next question is is it important which downgrader i use or it doesn't matter (where do u get it? - there are a lot diffrent i found on net)
i ask this couse i really don't wanna brick my psp.

thank u very much for suggestions!

If you have GTA:LCS unpatched version, JOHNI, i would use the 2.5/6 downgrader rather than the 2.71 downgrader. It's a lot safer!

no i don't have GTA:LCS unpatched version:(

so this ''risky'' way is the only way for me?

thx for help

It's not risky per se, but there have been bricks. Have you got the easy downgrader version? You can get it at PSP-Hacks .com. This version will put all the files in the right place on your MS and take away the majority of the problems with this downgrader. Bear in mind, there has been a hell of a lot of successful downgrades using this. Go for it and join the 1.5 army.

oh u don't now how the hell i want to join this army! Yes, but FIRST I downloaded firmware 2.71 to upgrade -version EU (this will be the first step), then i downloaded downgrader from 2.71 to 1.5.

i hope this is the right way for my psp

You are more than welcome.

what hb are you getting?
I recommend DevHook 0.46. It emulates 2.71 firmware so you get all the benefits of the FW without having to upgrade.
DGen 1.70 The latest in Megadrive/Genesis emulators. Almost Perfect.
Snes9xTYL me- Almost perfect SNES Emu.
Linkens Quest- A commerical looking Zelda-esque game.
irShell 2.2 A great alternative to the PSP's own XMB
harleyg custom firmware. Contains a recovery mode sop you can unbrick if you mess up your PSP.
X-Flash and Theme PSP Using both of these you can customise your PSP, with things like the background wallpaper, the gameboot video, the opening. rco sound, spoofing firmware etc.

I just downgraded to 1.50 yesterday... Do I have to downgrade to 1.00 and upgrade to 1.50 or does it not really matter? Is there any point of getting a "clean" firmware and if I don't get it will I have bugs on my PSP?? Also, is there any risk of bricking to downgrade to 1.00 because it already took 2 weeks to get up the courage to downgrade to 1.50, and I don't want to chance bricking my PSP now, especially since I have 1.50 and it seems to be working properly

You could do the 1.5>1.0>1.5 or 1.5>2.0>1.5, either way clears the bugs out leaving your psp clean and bug free (the bugs could lead to annoying problems like freeze ups, apps not working, even bricking if not cleared up)

1.0 > 1.5 is the best option :D

Okay, to downgrade from 1.50 to 1.00 is there any risk involved?
