Football fans will be able to grab a drink and take a look at the latest Pro Evo game at the same time.
Konami has set itself the goal of attracting footie lovers with an outdoor marketing campaign for PES 2012.
Ads will run in selected football stadiums, London Underground stations and pubs, with the latter featuring ads on bar media screens and posters in washrooms.
The sports title – out on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, PS2 and PC – will also be advertised on radio station TalkSport and on the Sky Sports TV channels. Banners, takeovers and other online ads will run on gaming and sports portals, and there’s co-promotions with ITV, Yahoo and YouTube.
“We are totally focused on the gameplay, and press reactions are calling it the best PES to date,” Konami’s European PES team leader Jon Murphy told MCV.
“Key new additions such as Active AI, which ensures teammates create space and make move to draw defenders out of position, and a secondary control system that lets you control two players at once, have created a game that truly reflects top-flight football.
“We also have the exclusive UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa Cup elements, and online plays a massive part, with full Facebook compatibility via the myPES add-on, which lets players create bespoke leagues for their friends.”
PES 2012 will be released on October 14th, two weeks after its rival FIFA 12 arrives on shelves.
