what i'm looking for in order of importance is:

1 being able to play music
2 being able to play emulators
3 being able to play new games
4 being able to surf the internet
5 being able to watch movies

so what do i need to do? the different firmware versions and everything are a little complicated to a noob like me. what do i need to buy and then what do i need to do from there? i.e. which firmware version do i buy and what do i downgrade to...

thanks in advance!

With 1.0(I don't have it, but I'm certain it works as well)~1.5 version firmware, you can run music, emulators, new games via Devhook, use the internet via devhook, and you can watch movies with all the firmware versions, as long as it's in the right video format and such.

If you get any PSP without a TA-082 motherboard or is under 2.8, you can downgrade and do ALL of those things listed. :)
