SoI have a lot of old consoles and some extra cash laying around and I was thinking of getting a domain name and starting a mod/homebrew ebay store/website. Then I began to wonder is it legal to sell moded videogame consoles over the web?

ya i have been doing it for about a year now and i have became quite good at it. I have a modified dreamcast, 2 modded n64, 1 modded nes, 1 modded sega saturn, 1 modded sega genesis, and these are the only ones i could remember. And each of these have 2,3, or more mods done.

To answer dark savior: I have some pics being developed and when i get them back I was going to make a thread and show them.

To answer Kando: Some of the advantages of modding a nes is to allow you to play games without blinking, to play imports/ your own carts, and just make it look cool!

Its only legal if the modded console doesn't use modified official code in anyway or is determined to be used in ways already known to be illegal *caugh **playing pirated crap*. Cosmetic stuff is nothing to worry about, since you can mod pc cases all day long and sell them as well. *edit* unless the cosmetic mod uses copyrighted characters, emblems, etc.

The one where you make the nintendo logo on the controller light up with red LEDs.

And these are my first. XD

I don't know a URL, but it involves taking off the bezel from the top, and cutting a hole. You take power from one of the pins in the controller, and you can use a resistor or two for the LEDs.
