I have installed the PSX-P ony my psp and i have the scph1001.bin in the bios folder and my games in the roms folder but when i start any of the games it just reboots back to the xmb

what am i doing wrong

check the the PSX-P Compatibility List (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=36926)
Maybe u try jsut games like Resident evil which doesnt supported with the current version..

crash bandicoot works over here but maybe you should get "scph7502.bin" bios 512 KB (524.288 Bytes)

thats wat im usin as well and tekken 3 and street fighter ex 2 plus working

Your games have to be in .img format do you have them that way.

I thought they could be iso/bin. I tried MGS.img and it still didn't run!!!

I didn't get any bios, but mine plays a few games
