Ehh...Wot is TA-082?

Just wondrin wot the hell all this fuss is about Ta-082 on folks psps. is it a bad thing to have on it or wot?

Yes it is very bad. It means you can't downgrade to 1.5, but soom 0okm is gonna release a 2.5 (or 2.71) TA-082 downgrader.

which letter started the ta-082 boards? right now my friend has "K" PSP and it has 2.60 and it's a TA-082 board. I need to know what letter started the TA-082's so we can look for an older one with a non TA-082 board.

i highly doubt that you will be able to find a non TA-082 psp in any store :(

even if you do find one that is non TA-082 you should count yourself very lucky to get a non TA-082

I've never yet physically seen a TA-082 and I've downgraded like ten of them, including boxfresh ones.
With regards to the letters on the box, K or KCW and under are 2.6, non-TA-082 PSP's.

if u want a non ta 082 buy preowned and then ask to check that it works, most shops say yes.
i said i just wanted to see that the psp switched on and that the umd worked. while it was on i checed the fw version.
took 2 tries but i eventually found non ta 082 1.5 psp!
(bought straight away :) )

I once purchased a PSP at a Gamestop with 1.5 firmware and homebrew loaded onto the memory stick. :D
