View Full Version : Pink model helps Japanese 3DS sales rise a third

Sales of the 3DS rose by more than a third in Japan last week following the release of the new pink model, which will launch in Europe next month (http://www.next-gen.biz/news/nintendo-confirms-release-plans-new-3ds-colours).
Nintendo's handheld was the best-selling hardware of the week, selling 73,933 units compared to the previous week's 55,025, according to Media Create data passed along by Andriasang.
Namco Bandai - which Famitsu yesterday named the highest-grossing publisher in Japan (http://www.next-gen.biz/news/namco-bandai-tops-japan-revenue-list) in the last six months - takes the top two spots in the software chart, with PS3's Macross F Hybrid Packat number one, followed by Naruto Narutimate Impact for PSP. The publisher's games occupy half of the top ten, including the magnificently named AKB1/48 If I Loved An Idol In Guam.
Two western games make their debuts in the top ten this week:Dead Island in third, and EA's FIFA 12 at number seven.
