Either downgrade from 2.01
or update to 2.6 then downgrade or
update to 2.71 and downgrade

can all be found here http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/35

I dont mean this personally, but that is probably the most useless reply I've seen so far today. triple_m was asking what the SAFEST way of downgrading is, not if they can do it or not. I do wish people wouldn't answer questions just to increase their postcount, regardless of whether they know the answer or not.

To answer the question, the best way nowadays is to upgrade to 2.71 and then downgrade using the dark alex generic downgrader which does a clean install of the 1.5 firmware:

http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=38119

Let me know how it goes.

You answered nothing, you just stated what could be done. I've looked at your posts and most of them are "me too" replies.

I'm not being rude to you, why are you calling me a "fool".

Please stop giving "advice" to people when you are no more clued up about psp downgrading than a teabag is clued up to the history of india.

Sorry to say this, but Break it up! Isn't there a generic downgrader for 2.01 too, that does the same thing?

There is, and its fanjita's work so i would think it should work great.

Release Thread (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=35231)

Dagobert has had an issue with it and couldnt get it to work however http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=247893&postcount=14 so perhaps the 2.71 path is more tried and tested? The release thread has a few ppl its worked great for however so perhaps he is just unlucky.

I was lucky enough to never have to deal with anything above 2.0.

I once tried a 2.01 downgrader and it didn't work. The 2.71 downgrader by Dark_AleX is the safest in my oppinion, as it formats the flash before downgrading.

Now than people chill it a bit. What MikeDX perhaps means is that you should elaborate more on your posts, as sometimes it isn't always clear if you have answered it fully.

Oh okay, then ignore what I said then. I thought it would work.

I just downgraded my mates psp from 2.01. I used the 2.01 downgrader to go from 2.01 to 1.0 then the update from 1.0 to 1.5, it worked perfectly for me just a shame my own psp is 2.71 with a TA-082 board.

best way ive found to downgrade is to update to 2.71 then down to 1.5
ive done that to loads of my mates psp's
its safe coz it either executes the whole of the code or none of it. so no chance of a brick unless no battery

You can get the 2.71 easy updater here http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/755

Connect your PSP via USB, turn up your speakers, and run this Windows executable

That would be 2.71 SE and 1.5 is required to install it.

Create an UPDATE folder in ms0:/PSP/GAME, and put the EBOOT there.

Thanx, I managed to downgrade to 1.50 using this:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/753
Do I need to upgrade to 2.00 and then downgrade to 1.50 or is it glitch-free version?
If I need to downgrade which is the safest way to downgrade from 2.00?
Thanx in advance.

If you want to downgrade from 2.0 use MPH's downgrader. It's been out for quite a while, and I've used it numerous times myself. You can find it here http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/3
