View Full Version : A Stupid Noob Question (sorry!)

Ok so I've looked around the forums and did a little bit of searching, but I think I would have to get way more in depth just to answer my fairly simple questions. I've seen what different homebrew options are available, and I want what is the least intrusive but most effective for my system. I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but I have a white DS Lite.

So after looking at my options, I think I either want to puchase the Super Card Lite (http://www.jandaman.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ndsscsdl) with a Superkey (http://www.jandaman.com/games.mvc?p=ndssuperkey&Category_code=), OR a M3 Lite Micro SD Version w/ NDS PassCard 3 (http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/customer/catalog/M3-Lite-Micro-SD-Version-w-NDS-PassCard-3-p-2454.html). However, I don't understand what all the different features of each are. At the very minimum I'd like to be able to run emulators for the NES, SNES, and GBA. If possible I'd like to be able to run my backup copies of my DS games from this as well. Are either of these capable of doing that?

My biggest concern is compatability, I don't want to spend 100 bucks on this then find out that it doesn't work with my version of the DS or anything, like what happened to me with my TA-082 PSP (except I didn't spend money, just found out I couldn't downgrade firmware). So if there are any incompatabilites I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could take a brief moment to help me see if this will work for me like it is sounding like it will.

Having said all that, if these two products (Supercard vs M3) are of similar quality and contain similar features, which would you recommend, knowing that it will be used mostly for emulation?

Thanks for any help, and sorry for a stupid topic--I just want to be absolutely sure before I spend my money! :D

Glad to see somebody doing their research before asking. I decided to go for the supercard lite, you cant see it when its in, which is why i got it originally, and it seems to run everything. Anything it doesnt run you can patch.

It has 32mb ram included if i read right, not sure if the other one does. This would be vital if anyone makes a homebrew browser imo.

Also, in polls i have seen, most people have supercard/supercard lite. I read seen that some backed up games dont work, but I think in all cases you can do something to make them work.

I dont really know about the M3 so I cant compare too well, sorry.

Hope this has helped.
