Remember when Doom was pulled off of Xbox Live Arcade (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/25/doom-double-d-dodgeball-pulled-from-xbla/) over a year ago because of "expiring rights" (i.e. Zenimax acquired Id Software (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/24/bethesda-parent-company-buys-id-software/))? Do you also remember that Zenimax stated that the game would be back up "soon," courtesy of Bethesda? Well then, good news because "soon" is apparently today! Bethesda has sent out a note announcing that the original Doom hasreturned XBLA (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/DOOM/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258410824?DownloadType=Game#LiveZone).

The granddaddy of modern shooters will set you back $5 and features both co-op and versus multiplayer via Xbox Live.
