The action-RPG Dark Messiah will be available via Valve's Steam service today - for North Americans - as of 10am EDT (2pm in Blighty) for $49.95.

People such as our good selves who live outside North America will be able to download it from Steam this Friday, the day it releases to retail in the UK, at 10am GMT - for $49.95 (around 27 quid). So, er, if you can't be arsed to get off your backside and go to the shop in the pissing down rain, here's your answer.

In further Steam news, a number of 2K Games' PC titles are to grace the service. Sid Meier's Civilization IV, Sid Meier's Civilization III, Shattered Union and Sid Meier's Pirates should be available this week and further games are to follow.

It's official - Steam is taking over the world.
