I've been using eloader 0.9.9 since it came out, and now it seems like eloader users have been left out of all the great new things happening in homebrew. I want to try out some new stuff with my psp. Firstly, I want to install HEN-C. I know it writes to the flash0, but doesn't overwrite anything. Is it save enough to say that 99% of the time it doesn't brick? Does anyone have any horror stories about it? If I do choose to use HEN-C, I'm going to sooner or later want to use the generic downgrader to downgrade to 1.5 firmware. How does that work? Is that very safe? Any horror stories with this, too? Thanks in advance for your help.

The generic downgrader is very easy to use, but you must bu in firmware 2.71 to use it. I suggest that you just downgrade to 1.50, it's better than having to use an eloader. :)

You should downgrade to 1.5 first you have check to see if you have a ta-082 check here to see

If you have a ta-082 you cannot downgrade but if you dont you can update to 2.71 and downgrade using the easy downgrader

I already know that I am not using a ta-082. I was thinking of downgrading mine with the original tiff downgrader, but decided not to when I heard that a new eloader would be made.

EDIT: I failed to mention that I do have 2.71

you should downgrade to 1.5 using the easy 2.71 downgrader
Why not the generic downgrader? Is the easy downgrader safer?

the easy downgrader is for people who find it hard it installs every thing for you in the right place

I don't need anything to be easy. I used the original tiff downgrader with success on my friend's psp, but I just never wanted to risk mine.

the generic downgrader is alot faster than the easy downgrader, but it requires you to transfer the files to the memorystick, and the easy downgrader does that for you.

well use the generic downgrader then

OK. I'll use it, but I was wondering if you've heard of any bricks caused by it that were out of that person's control.

i have heard of bricks but rarely ( i think the were caused by the user)

but if i was you i would do the easy downgrader just to be on the safe side

One last question: Is a new version of eloader supporting kernel mode ever going to be made?

I doubt it, but who knows. They just might make one :)
