sony will already be patching it in 3.00....obviously they knew about it when 2.80 came out, but they didnt fix the decrypter exploit in 2.81 or months later in 2.82...i guarantee wether its released or not 3.00 will need a new psar decrypter.

i used the modified psar dumper to dump 2.8 and 2.81 to my mem stick, but it only dumped the flash0. Is there a Flash1 for firmwares 2.8 and 2.81? I just want to know for use with the new devhook

yes, there is flash1, same as flash1 for 1.00/1.50/2.00/etc/etc, just use the flash 1 you have for 2.71

3.00 maybe cracked who knows all i can say is that sony will be putting a lot of work in this 3.00 firmware so they will patch every exploit they can find

I'm sure they already knew about vulnerabilities in 2.82 but now they know that it is devhooked. Unless this thread is deleted and Harleyg's post is deleted. :)

2.81 is supose to beable to read higher mem sticks then 4gb because sony fixed an issue in the firmware that it couldn't read over 4gb

if you want to use a 4gig+ mem stick just buy a pro duo card reader or boot up devhook on a psp, swap to the 4gig+ stick, put files on it so there is less that 4gigs of empty space and presto!

i think that would work, unless 4 gig sticks aren't compatable with 1.0-2.8 at all

Another good point. I never really thought about swapping memory sticks but I would think that Booster would make a certain point where you could swap memory sticks. Or, depending on whether or not the emulated firmware accesses the firmware files continuously while running the firmware, you could just swap memory sticks at any time while devhook is running.

On a side note, I remember Booster posting with one of his releases that he was working on nand flash emulation. If this were achieved would that mean that we could just download the update for any firmware and run devhook off of that without having to decrypt it?

No one can tell fur sure about that. Virmware version 3.00 miguh arrive next month or sometime next year. Or maybe it would be released as soon as the PS3 hits the stores. That's just a guess.
