I haven't personally had any experience with it, but I hear good things. It is 100 U.S dollars. I honestly have no idea how to install it as I don't want to mess around with that kind of stuff, but I believe any sodering to the motherboard is dangerous and hard.

It was damn hard to install I heard and that it requires much care and expertise.

You could sell your current psp and buy another one without TA-082 and 1 you can downgrade

1) No it does not cost as much as a new psp!
2) I would buy it from the Store of Modchips ;)
3) Unless you are good at soldering yes you should wait for downgrader.
4) YES IT IS BLOODY HARD!! (i may or may not have done it ;)

A downgrader can come at any time really i heard someone working on a 2.80 downgrader saying it was going to be released on the 14th on november dont know if that was true though

Sorry, but solid release dates are plain BS, the downgrader wont be released then.

My advice is go with the chip if you can get someone to install it for you.

So. . .does anyone have any idea how this might compare to installing a mod chip in your xbox? I've done that one a few times successfully (not the no-solder modchip). If it's comparable to that, I guess I'd feel pretty comfortable installing it in my PSP. Additionally. . .aren't the UP modchips incompatible with the TA-082 boards anyways?
