Mrm... Is there anything you need to do special to the 2.71 firmware emulation? Whenever I compile an EBOOT.PBP demo using the decryptertest program, I always end up getting some error after it loads.

The Loco Roco Halloween one is in the post I made earlier in the homebrew forum. It's the only one I really care to play. Here is a link:

The Answers real simple my Friends!
This is just like the Ridge Racer 2 Demo from earlier this Week.

1) Get a (working), Demo

2) Get PBP Unpacker.

3) Get Dark_AleXs' Decryptertest*
*3a) Get KXploit (for v1.50)

4) Run PBP Unpacker extract all Three Files (PARAM.SFO, ICON0.PNG and DATA.PSP

5) Place the extracted DATA.PSP on the ROOT of your MemoryStick™ (If you still do not know what "Root" is that's your own lookout!)

6) Run the Decryptertest. Then go back to the USB afterwards you can delete the original DATA.PSP, as it's no longer needed. Rename DATA_OUT.PSP to DATA.PSP

7) Copy the decrypted DATA.PSP back to where you unpacked it with PBP Unpacker. You can just overwirte the Original File, that's already there.

8) Use a Hex Editor (I like XVI32 ~It's Free~ but. feel free to use whatever you like!),. Open the PARAM.SFO and scroll down till you find the Hex for 2.81 (~32 2E 38 31~), Edit this so that it reads 2.71 or (~32 2E 37 31~),.

9) Rebuild your EBOOT.PBP with PBP Unpacker and then import your finished product onto your PSP™

10) For other Demos: Lather Rinse & Repeat

Enjoy

That Loco Roco Halloween Demo in the link I provided on the first page of this thread is all set to go on DevHook 2.71 :D. If anyone han't tried this, they really should. It's a Halloween version of Loco Roco. It's really cool ! It works on DevHook 2.71 emulation. Just, download, unrar, put the folder in your games folder, (DO NOT RENAME THE FOLDER, or the demo won't work). then launch from 2.71 firmware.

BTW- thanks for the info on editing the other demos ichijoe. :)

I get "the game could not be started" on both Locoroco and RR2 (from the DL links in this topic. )

Have anyone an idea what could be wrong?

I use Devhook with a emulated 2.71, so there shold be no problem right?

But that is only needed when you have a TA-082 version PSP right?
I have a old 1.50 PSP, so im puzzled why there are errors.

heres the link to MotoGP (http://www.zshare.net/download/motogp-demo-for-2-71-zip.html)

i could try uploading tama run if u want i managed to get it workin as well

You need HenC for this to work as it breaks through sonys barriers, thus making it not work without HenC

Is that hard to just get the Demos (Posted IIRC 2 Pages back), and get the Tools to decrypt 'em yourselves?

This isn't like recompiling a *'nux™ Kernel!
Hell my Dog could do this!
Get the Demos, Get the Tools and stop asking for Warez!

I don't get the feeling that S0NY would approve of you all posting links to Cracked Demos.
Then again UMD™ *.isos' are BAD!

But yet it's cool to Pirate other Platforms like, but not limited to: Nintendo™ (any), NeoGeo™ and Sega™.

So what would I know?!

I think posting free Information, or all to use is One thing, and just being really lazy is another.
For something that should take less then Five Minutes to do yourself.

As for the "Tools" ~As always www.google.com is your Friend!~

jak66
October 27th, 2006, 14:43
the tools to decript the demos are at www.dax.st,
as for the kazuo demo, type kazuo into google and find the official page with it on, cause its a demo for 2.71 anyway, no need for decription

Airdevil
October 27th, 2006, 15:31
ive got all the tools and ive done like all the demos myself except for the WST one, everytime i do it, it just turns off my psp.

So if anyone has that particular game working on a 2.71 devhooked psp can they send it me please :)

Do you need Hen-C if using 2.71 SE-A ?

ETA: never mind, I answered my own question. I now have Loco Roco original demo, Loco Roco Halloween, Moto GP, Ridge Racer II and the japanese game with the weird name that I can't remember all running on 2.71 SE-A. Nice!

jak66
October 27th, 2006, 18:03
noyou dont cause 2.71 SE has hen C built in, but y r u still on 2.71 SE-A, when SE-B is out?

Am not interested in running ISOs, so no pressing reason to upgrade, yet. Now when 2.8x SE comes out, count me in! :)

If I were to run this through devhook, how would I do that? Is there any special files I have to put onto it? Because it doesn't work for me.

You need to have Devhook w/v2.71 installed, and running.
Alternatively I gather you could also use Dark_AleXs' v2.71SE x as well.
Although I wouldn't care to presume it v1.50, and Devhook are your only Friends!

Once you have v2.71 working either with or without Devhook (I can only go by v1.50 and Devhook as that's all I have),.
You can then download and modify the Demo's as seen on Page 2.

Then if you managed to do this correctly (It's not that hard!), Those Demo's will (should), work, under Devhook & v2.71.

archangel1024
October 28th, 2006, 20:02
will these run outside of devhook (2.71SE-B)?

EDIT: 0WNZ!!! THEY RUN ON 2.71 SE-B!!!

gymnotropic
October 28th, 2006, 23:08
Ah, grand. I got them working now. I must of had some odd settings for devhook or something, because after I reinstalled it on my memory stick it started working correctly.

Edit: Well that's a sob. The Mercury Meltdown(Which is in Japanese) doesn't work on my American version PSP.

Edit again: Erm.. well, it seems the Mercury Meltdown worked after a few tries. I don't know why it didn't start right up, though.

not that I'd update at least not till dark alex does fw 3.0 se a or equivallant
