Sadly, I will get an Xbox 360 soon. But I will not use Xbox Live. Which Xbox games are compatible without the online updates? Also, can I use it without a hard drive?

Without Online Updates or the XBOX Compatibility Disc? None. Without a hard drive? None. Yeah it sucks and its the major drawback with the 360.

I own a 360 (and I'm proud of it) - you should really reconsider about the live it's a really good experience.

Anyway should you get an HD to play games of the first XBOX I remember having issues at first however the things got better (seemingly on their own) and now every game plays well.

If it's compatibilty you're worried about (given that you need an HD) I thinks it's something close to 95% (however I did update so I don't know how things will go without) so you shouldn't be worried about it really, hope I was helpful.

Thanks, guys. Also I found some info in the last night. Thanks anyway ;)
Also, since I will not use Xbox Live, I heard that I can download the file with the updates from the xbox official site (for the xbox compatibility), burn it on a cd or dvd, and run it on the xbox 360 :)
Sadly, I will need to get a hard drive for the xbox 360 :(

I hate to bring up somthing I know nothing about, for instance, I dont know if you will be using dial up and thats why you wont or not... but Whatever happened to the xbox live free member ship and the 6 free months cards they used to give you?

sliver is free, and that lets you do everything bar online play, you also get one months free gold membership with a new xbox.

You also get a year's subscription if you purchase the £50 360 web cam.
