Well, it's been recently reported that there are PSP units with firmware (FW) version 2.81 straight from the factory, having the letter code L bu I am not sure if they have the TA-082 motherboard on though.

It should still be possible to get a PSP without the TA-082 PCB and have FW version 2.50 (code H) or 2.60 (code I), whether it is a UK 1003K or european 1004K.

Your best bet is probably to pick up a used one. Check your local pawn shops, they are a great source of older version systems.

Get a 1004, they come loaded with 2.71 and are non ta-082.
