1.5 is more compatible, but 2.71 SE has more features. (Although you can devhook those features on 1.5)

I prefer SE. More features like Video said.

I like SE because of easy access to all the features and if you need 1.5 because of compatibility issues, you can devhook 1.5.

1.5 is just simple and all your saving is about 20mb i would keep to 1.5 if i were you everything you can do just diffent ways of running them so its up to you

I've got 2.71SE, and I'm never going back. When set up correctly (really only one option really...) then it is totally better, at least in my opinion.

1.50 has always been the strongest firmware, but being susceptible to bricks makes it a little weak. 2.71 SE-B" can do what 1.50 does + you get updated Sony features, and you don't need to fear ending up with a bricked PSP if you like to experiment with flashing custom stuff. So for me, it's 2.71 SE-B, C, D and so on from now.

its true that the people who are willing to be adventurous will be the ones who will get the most from se firmware. i think se is better and for those who have compatability issues there is many a way to fix the problems. all of my homebrew works either by me fixing them or by the author fixing them or even working straight away. it is well worth the risk in my opinion and so i did it. now i have full homebrew support and as good a compatability with umd's as devhook.

out of all my homebrew only 4 were not fixable by me and one of those was the flashing app xflash so obviously it wouldnt work with it. for the other 3 the authors quickly released fixes.

maybe we should start a thread to post all known fixes for games for se firmware (because a lot of the ones i had, needed to be converted to 1.0 format), to make it easy as possible for people to fully enjoy the se firmware.

I'd say 1.5 simply it does what I want it to do; play ROMs, play homebrew, ect.
