View Full Version : Ok so 2.8 fw and above cannot be exploited or hacked?

Your telling me it is basically impossible, right? Well if its not possible its only because you are unoriginal. If you go on the tiff exploit for 2.8 and use that asd a basis there has GOT to be a way. Granted, 2.81-82 fix this exploit. Well then theres got to be another exploit in the firmware because 3.0 is coming out here soon for the PS1 games soon to be coming out. The games will require 3.0 firmware however that is niot important to me, of course. Im simply stating that since ANOTHER fw is coming out theres got to be a hole somewhere right? If Im wrong, then fine, but logically theres got to be an exploit. Im sure someone is going to say to do it myself. Well I do not have the necessary tools to hack/exploit the psp software unless someone can point me in the right direction. Plus my recently purchased PSP came with 2.82 I was there when the guy traded it in and he let me look at it then sold it to me for only 100 bucks and I lack the funds to get another psp. One last thing being his was the only one being that was used besides the new ones which the clerk, being a geek like me said all had 2.8 fw so it would have been pointless to get one if I wanted to run homebrew.

2.82 , 2.81 partial kernel access , 2.80 partial kernel access.

They is no hacks or explots for these

In the future dont update

no just because 3.0 is coming out doesnt meanthere is an exploit or a hole. It simply means they are adding new features

Ok so is someone working on a downgrader?

Ok so is someone working on a downgrader?

No one knows when a downgrader will come it will just come.

Why bother to update in the first place

Can someone tell me how to get the partial kernel access tools?

since there is no known exploit on your firmware yet, the PSPSDK would be pointless for you as you have no way of knowing if your game works/doesnt work/bricks PSPs/etc.
If you notice, Sony doesnt ususally add 'sercurity updates' untill after an exploit is found, so if 2.82 does have an exploit somewhere, it will likely be in 3.0 as well (plus any new ones that come from the new features)

splodger, what do you mean 'partial kernal access'?

splodger, what do you mean 'partial kernal access'?

I heard someone that they have very little kernel access but there is security to pass

be reasonable splodger

many people update when they first get therye psp and then when theryre freind comes and says HEY MAN look what MY psp can do blah blah. The guys like cool i want that shit for my psp the other freind is like DUHHHHH you need a firmware lower than the one to do this shit man... then the guy is like fricking shit i never knew this existed now this is what downgraders are made for because as we all know we cant just put HOMEBREW WORKS ON 1.5 DONT UPDATE on EVERY SINGLE psp box so thats why downgraders are needed by most generous hackers.

Ok yes, very true Tetris99 I did know about homebrew before purchasing my psp as stated above. Anyway, though can someone tell me how close they have gotten to cracking 2.8+ or not?

So now Im being called a noob? Thanks. And considering the eloader is out for 2.8 does this mean 2.81-82 are not far behind and does this mean a dg soon? Im sorry Im just really eager. And since I know this is redundant, since Im a noob, Im going to ask: Can I use the 2.8 Eloade on my 2.82 PSP?

the only reason the new eloader works on 2.80 is because of the tiff exploit. This was blocked in 2.81 and 2.82 so to answer your question, no, the eloader will not work on your 2.82 PSP. Until a new exploit is found there will not be a eloader for 2.81 or 2.82, and until a kernal access exploit is found there will not be a degrader for 2.80

Hawke please...

We have enough people begging for downgraders.
I can say with experience that patience is key. I waited the long wait for the 2.6 Downdater.
The scene yields results. Just give it time.

Find comfort in the fact that Dark Alex, Fanjita and the rest of the crew are working on exploits as you type.
No amount of whining is going to help them. Again, from experience I know that what I am telling you must be terribly frustrating. I have nothing to remedy your frustration. However, I can tell you with certainty that when the downgrader finally arrives, you will be more satisfied than any 1.5 owner. Trust me.

BTW: Whatever happened to that guy who said he would release a video of himself running down the street naked if the 2.6 downgrader ever came out?
Hmmm...

Ok ok ok. Yes, whining doesnt help. Does anyone know how to get in contact with this Dark Alex fellow? Or maybe Fanjita? Like do they talk on this forum or do they have individual or a team website? BTW: BlackJack, hell yeah, I love Donnie Darko. Thats gotta be one of Jake Gyllenhals best movies. And no I dont think I spelled it correctly lol.

Ok I also just tried the eloader for the hell of it. It of course booted then gave me an error. Ergh, false hope. Lol oh well.

Ok, so I should just be patient. I can do that. However why is it that people arent trying to develop homebrew for the newer firmwares? I honestly dont understand why.

splodger15
November 16th, 2006, 20:05
Beacause they is no exploit for the newer firmwares eg 2.82
