Nintendo will offer (over) four times as many machines as Sony when it launches its Wii console in Japan on 2 December.

The Japanese video game maker said it will ship almost 400,000 units of its Wii console, compared to 100,000 (actually closer it 90,000) for Sony's PlayStation 3.

However Nintendo has not said how many consoles it will make available in the US where the Wii debuts on 19 November.

The launch of the Wii will see the big games makers Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo going head to head.

The Wii, the Xbox 360 and the PS3 will compete for attention on the shelves this Christmas.

CORRECTION! A battle between Nintendo and Sony.

Nobody's gonna care about Microsoft over the Christmas period. NOBODY!
