So by Hard Down to 1.50...you mean this board is 1.50 compatible?

To quote from the Front Page...

"HardDown = Hardware method DownGrade -
SoftDown = Software method DownGrade"

It would in Ones' opinion refer to a Modchip install, as opposed to a Software v2.00>v1.50 Hack.

But, that's only the way I've read it...

says harddown is hardware method downgrade, get the right hardware and 1.5 for every1 (then up to 2.71 SE-B") lol

carlitx-no, what it means is that it is possibleto downgrade to a 1.50 if a 2.81 ever does get cracked (we'll focus on 3.00 i bet so i would just upgrade to 3.00)

I think that it means that you can install a modchip on it but I'm not really sure. That's just my guess.

Guys, "hard down" means that this version of the PSP can be downgraded through a mod chip. You can't downgrade this through software (yet)... it probably has different voltages just like the TA-082s.

I'm glad to see 0okm working on this profusely!

Maybe Sony makes the modchips. That might be why this is modchip compatible.

This is a very helpful thread. Its great to see what the box code (L) is for this mobo.

Hopefully we will see the day when these PSP's can be downgraded in safe reliable way.

If indeed this means that these PSP's can be modchipped then I don't know what Sony is thinking. Also, modchips are selling for $70 at consolesource.

It will take a while until a modchip is available for this board.

So the current modchips are not compatible with this hardware? Will there be modchips compatible with the TA-082's?

I think they have special ones for TA-082s

No, from the looks of the pictures, the chip layout is varied from our 1.5 friendly boards, not only that the voltages are probably changed, thus making current modchips obsolete.

Hard down means either a modchip capable board or something to do with easily removable/flashable memory.

No. He means that a 2.71 firmware can be installed on it, but you can only hardware downgrade it as of yet.

Has anyone run a battery life test on the different motherboard variants? I'd be interested to see if any changes were made to the hardware that would conserve more power.

JEZUS CHRIST, U NOOBS OF STUPIDITY!!!

To explain the difference of hardware and software, refer to Google. Sorry if you are not one of these panters, but softdown refers to software downgrading, e.g. reflashing your firmware. I can only assume that hard down is either replacing the onboard flash chip with the older one (hence downgrading) or perhaps a modchip.

Please read before you weep, children.
