Stephen Fry and Charlie Brooker publicise lobbying website

A campaign backing Electronic Arts’ decision to publish games featuring gay romance has recorded 65,000 signatures in a matter of days.
Celebrities Stephen Fry and Charlie Brooker have both publicised the campaign, which at current rates will reach its 75,000 signatory goal before Wednesday.

It has been noticed that a number of the signatories are automated bots that have artificially exaggerated the campaign’s true number of supporters.
Electronic Arts last week claimed it has received “thousands (http://www.develop-online.net/news/40422/Thousands-of-anti-gay-threats-storm-EA)” of messages, both printed and email, demanding the company erase gay scenes within its blockbuster games.
The publisher has since been backed by a surge of industry professionals since it broke its silence on the attack.
