Leaked EA Origin advert suggests new title will not appear on Steam
Frankfurt headquartered studio Crytek is building the third instalment of its blockbuster Crysis series, a growing body of online evidence has shown.
A leaked, and now deleted, advert promoting the game would suggest that EA Origin has publishing rights for the PC edition – likely meaning the title will not appear on Valve’s Steam.
Crysis 2 was removed from the Steam portal after an alleged dispute between EA and Valve over DLC royalties and rights.
EA, which publishes Crysis games through its Partners programme, proceeded to exclude its PC titles from Steam.
The situation is complicated further because EA Partners games are not typically banned from Steam (http://www.develop-online.net/news/40299/EA-Partners-contracts-permit-Steam-publishing) because they do not belong to EA. Crysis has been the only exception to this rule, thouh the precise reason is unclear.
