It's pretty evident by now that Nintendo Wii is the hot item this holiday season, even more so than PS3 or certainly Xbox 360.

Sales prove it, talk shows it, and so do the latest rankings in the Yahoo Buzz Index. Nintendo's next-gen console ranked as the number 2 Top Tech Mover, bested only by Microsoft's Zune.

PlayStation 3 came in at #3, #4, and #7. This is due to variations in how people are searching for Sony's console Xbox 360 trailed the pack with the 10th spot.

The full list of movers and shakers in the tech category is as follows:

1. Zune: +880%
2. Nintendo Wii: +205%
3. Playstation 3: +145%
4. PS3: +133%
5. Nintendo: +112%
6. MP3 players: +94%
7. Play Station 3: +86%
8. iPod Nano: +71%

no its not, its meant to be nintendo. if you had any idea what this was, you would realize that when people write nintendo, they are searching for nintendo products in general, and they most likely meant the wii. same with people typing xbox probably looking for the 360. its not like people need to look up old consoles on the internet.

It is sort of strange. the zune's marketing strategy was basically "GO AFTER THE IPOD PEOPLE!". somthing I would never have expected to work... Im sure its sales will drop significantly after the holidays though.

I dont understand how Xbox 360 could be last. Sure its fame run is over, but its still awesome. Im inclined to agree with emuking that this seems a little strange.

Plus: Zune, 1st? WTF?!

xb360 is last because its been out over a year, and people are PLAYING the games people have the system. Wii and ps3 no's are largely made up from hype and anticipation of their respective console launch. The consoles have only just been released, so soon they will just become the norm in terms of searches on the web, just like 360

So in that respect im suprised xb360 is even in the list at all - must be due to many people still on the fence weather to get a ps3 or 360??
