Looks like the emu has frame skipping (or maybe not, I'm not sure). CB2 is very slow, ~4 frames being rendered per second but thats understandable since it pushed the PSX to the max. The graphics are rendered perfectly.

hmmm so far castlevania sotn has a real garbled screen...psxp loaded this fine. getting lots of memory stick lighting up but bugger all happening really. ooooooooooooooohhhh title menu is spot on. menu sections are practically 30fps. load times are quite somethin. still loading.......im sure all this can be ironed out tho. only thing is tho when loading difficult to tell what is actually going on. although memory stick light is still blinking so i guess its a relativly good sign.

Einhander - Don't think it loads the beginning intro movie, so hit X when it comes to a black screen. Also, it seems to be playable, bit slow but still playable.

Menus are close to 100% in speed.

well I tested FF7 at different CPU speed:
at 100% its quite slow
at 800% its seems fullspeed!!

I didn't tried more than 800%, because I dont know, it may be dangerous for the psp?!

Correction: The Hunter (PAL) gets to title screen, press start, goes black. afer some time comes to the main screen. Freezes when you try to hear about a job.

this % thing....im kinda guessing the psp wont be running at 1000% speed maybe thats 100%. perhaps people should try different cd images.....iso/bin etc.... i dunno worth a try. might give people a better idea of what runs best. kinda gutted cos all the games ive tried so far get to loading screen and stop....except for castlevania sotn....buut the graphics are a mess but when it get s to the menu its spot on...then it all goes pear shaped. and tekken 3 but it gets to the namco logo and stops....ithink thats cos its a mini rip:O

I have loaded up Suikoden II, it gets to the Konami sign, but after that, goes black for about 2 mins, until....

RE2 (leon) loads and gets in game and is at a playable speed but i cant move. (I can shoot and st5uff and it shows the running animation but im not going anywhere. Ill try reloading the game.)

Edit: its still happening. can someone else try RE2 and see if this happens to them? It might be my copy of the game.

I'm worried. I am seeing lots of people reporting that FF7 is running at or around full speed when set to around 800% but mine is running super slow at all settings! I estimate about 5-10 fps. Its taken me half an hour to beat the first boss. Help?

Theme Park (NTSC) - Loads normally. Takes a while in the Bullfrog logo, crashes at the Theme Park logo (probably because a cutscene loads).

Also - Final Fantasy VII Disc 1 (NTSC) crashed for me at the "Loading Game"...

Status:Playable w/minor glitches, must load from savestate

Loads up to title screen. Starting a new game causes a black screen with lots of reading from the memory stick, I'm assuming it can't handle the intro movie.

Using a savestate from EPSXE on my PC I managed to get in game. Slow, but playable. Graphics are somewhat glitched. It wouldn't take much to get this running full speed some day. :thumbup:

Gran Turismo will indeed go into game but is unplayable due to some strange collision detection issues that bounces the car all over the track. You really have no control over it, at least this was my experience. It seemed like it would be too slow to be enjoyable anyways. My Twisted Metal 2 disc was too scratched to rip, I'm trying Duke Nukem, Quake 2 and NFS2 next.

MK Mythologies: Sub Zero I couldn't get it to load but I had trouble ripping it so it may be a bad rip.

Test Drive 5 runs, but it's slow and I only played one race so I don't know if there will be other problems other than speed. It got ingame and was playable, the best working game I have found so far.

So far I haven't found as many playable games as I had hoped, here's to the next release. ;)

edit: How do you change the speed? I notice someone talking about this.

I tested bust a groove 2..... right after i loaded the game i read some user posts. they said there was no sound. i looked down at my psp screen and the game froze at the east west japan logo. I think it froze while trying to load the movie intro sequence. This is cool. I knew it could be done. PSOne haha

Duke Nukem: Time to Kill is playable, but slow. I got it ingame and everything works but for some reason I cant kill any of the pigs on the first level and vice versa. It was fun for a bit though.

You can always use IRshell and play music in the background.... There's tons of FF7 music floating around on the internet.... Just load IRshell in the background, loop the music, and enjoy! *make sure to run at 333mhz*

Use IRshell and press the button combo (Home+R i think) to change to 333mhz... You'll need the Irshell configured for 2.71 SE though... It was posted in the forums before

could someone please PM Me? Im having issues with FF7 . It loads fine but the save state which is enclosed with the emulator wont recognize in FF7. It is installed in the correct place. Also I am trying to run my PAL ripped FF7 . . . Is the savestate for NTSC ? Can someone please PM me with some info.. and possibly a savestate for the PAL version?

EDIT Just found out that it is a problem with the PAL version.

Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (Disc 3) Loads beautifully, main menu and all, and the options menu works, but as soon as you hit 'VR Missions', the mem stick blinks likt it's loading fine, then you get black screen.

Here is a savestate for the PAL version of Final Fantasy 7. I noticed the savestate given with the emulator would not load on my PAL rip of FF7... this one does.
It is saved at the first save point... and you can trust me with this... because I had to freakin download ePSXE to save the damn thing ;)

So now you have no excuse for not enjoying FF7 .

Here is an extremely sloppy wrap up of this thread. I cut & pasted everyones comment who said they got something working. Like I said it's far from organised, but hey - it's either this or read through 19 pages of posts. ;) By the way: I tested Puzzle Bobble 2 and it played pretty good. (maybe 70% speed). Played for about 5 mins and it didn't crash on me. :)

Hi, i tried the emu on my 2.71se-c psp. These are the results:

- Resident.Evil.3.Nemesis.GER stops at the violence info.:p

- Street.Fighter.Alpha.3 runs at 10-15fps:thumbup:

Grant Turismo2 (Arcade mode disk) - Loads up pretty quickly. All the menus and the car selction work fine, Its goes into the game and starts to zoom into the cars then freezes.

Driver - Gets past 'memory card check' then screen goes black and gets no further.

Metal Gear Solid - Games boots up then screen goes black once you try to start.

All are Pal versions of the games, freshly ripped from my original playstation collection. Thats all ive had time to test, but I think i'll wait for a future update before doing much more.

A promising start, just a shame none of the games that I've got work.

I just noticed something about the compatibility list- It's too vague. Works and Doesn't Work is kinda misleading. For example, Final Fantasy IX works but crashes at certain points while in game. Also, some games may run at near full speed and some others don't. It makes the list sorta... useless. ;_;

For me, on the field ff7 wasn't too bad, about half speed, though quite choppy. However, in battle it slows to around 3fps.

fyanwolfe, umm thats pirating and second, you play it by cd's. each cd is no more than 700 mbs. so it will fit on a gig memory card.

Are you blind? Obviously that isn't running at 25-30 fps. You can clearly see that the picture is only updating about 5 times per second. Please don't post false information if you have no idea what you're talking about.

That would be my crappy vid camera, it runs faster when playing... It records at 15 fps, so OF COURSE it would seem jittery... The purpose of my videos isn't to show speed, it's to show that it loads and how long it takes to be playable

Jet moto 2 doesnt work

it seems like it boots the game,but screen remainds grey.i kept pressing X till it got to the loading screen but it freezes at that point and shuts psp off.

While it says it plays any format in the readme, it seems that in reality, it seldom plays ISO's. When I convert ISO's to BIN's MOST games work!
