Hey before I download this, I would just want to ask a few questions just to clear things up. So basically this is just another homebrew to homebrew 1.5 on a 2.71? If so would I still be able to play 2.71 required games on it? And how safe is it if I have:

Upgraded to 2.71>1.5>2.71?

Thank you so much!

so you are on 2.71 not means you have to use reverse devhook to emulate 1.5 or you could emulate 2.71 on 1.5 your choice

Basically it emulates 1.5 that was what I was trying to say, so will it still run 2.71 games?

Sorry to bother you again, so this is the same? Gar I'm such a n00b I havn't got a clue I was told by a friend, he said that it was for 2.71 so you could homebrew games 1.5 again but can still play 2.71 UMDs

1.5 and 2.71 have the same capablities although same prefer either i have a 1.5

1.5 can still play 2.71 umds by using a program called devhook

Oh right so you can't use a 2.71 to homebrew 1.5 with Devhook then?

Ok
2.7 se-c = emulate 1.5 while on 2.71

Devhook = 1.5 users who can emulate 2.71

You can play homebrew games on 1.5 and 2.71

the 2 devhooks are
DevHook (Regular) - Emulate firmware 2.XX (soon possibly 3.XX as well) on a psp with firmware 1.5
Reverse DevHook (with HenC or HenD) - Emulate firmware 1.50 (homebrew) or 2.00-2.60 (GTA:LCS save data cheat device) on a psp with firmware 2.71

However; if you use lots of UMDs and homebrew, constantly having to use devhook can be a pain, so if you dont have a TA-082 motherboard you can use 2.71 SE-C with combines 1.50 and 2.71 into a hybrid firmware so you dont need devhook to switch between UMDs and homebrew

Not if you have custom fimrware you can just flick wlan down and it loads your last used devhook settings which is better

I think saving time + memory stick space is better.
Remember, with 1.5cfw, you still have to use devhook for UMDs, with 2.71se-C, you rarely have to use devhook.

1) Not all custom firmware works like that (i know harleygs did, i used to use that one, but Darks POC didnt)

2) You still have to use devhook every time to switch between either UMDs or homebrew. Sure you can start on 2.71 devhooked, then use a auto exit mod (like the home+start one) to get to 1.5, but if you want to go to 2.71 again...devhook

3) if he wanted to be on 2.71 using reverse devhook (which is what i could gather from the first post) then he wouldnt be able to use any custom firmware

i know that 1.5 is good at its thing (homebrew, homebrew and more homebrew) but i prefer 2.71 SE as I use homebrew and UMDs a lot, so starting devhook every time i get bored of something (gpSP and Bomberman Arena recently :)) got annoying

out of all 1.50 users 75% are scared of brick if they update ( )
20% are same as you (who can blame them:thumbup: )
and 5% ............... never heard of 2.71 SE (lol)

*All figures are made up, but the reasons are quite accurate

I understand what your saying about the whole 3 different GAME folders, it was annoying when i first upgraded (SE-A, when homebrew HAD to be in GAME150 folder) but since SE-B its no longer been a problem

im kinda happy with 1.5 an 0.46 devhook
the only reason im gonna update is when 2.71se final comes out
until then i stick with 1.5
for me there is no reason to went to 2.71se cause 1.5 is easy to handle

If you're happy using DevHook on a 1.5 ythen you should really try the latest version. It is a 2.71 Hybrid, which basically means the FW is 2.71 but has been tweaked to include some files from FW 3.01, meaning you can load UMD's with firmware higher than 2.71, such as GTA:VCS, Mortal Kombat and Thrillville. Potentially, you'd be able to load 3.01 FW UMD's, like MGS:PO (hopefully).

i thought the only game that wont run is starfleet tactics and some puzzle game cause they need 2.8x to work on devhook
gta vcs works on my devhook
i really want to see 2.71se going final before i update
