Flashing - Text Entry

Alright I just had a thought:

Would it be possible to, now don't laugh too hard at me, flash over the default Sony text entry method, with a more efficient text entry method, say the one used in most homebrew applications.

I know text entry isn't used in games much, but when it is, it's a REAL drag.

hmm... I doubt it, though it would be helpful.

I think that is along the lines of taking the sony emulator out of the firmware, which I hear would be just as hard if not harder than making one of the current ps1 emu's run at full speed

If they could replace it though, they could possibly do some sort of system that runs off of wifi to connect to a keyboard or something, but Iunnooo
